How does IKEA standard truck delivery work?

To use this service, add the items you want to your shopping bag and select “Standard delivery” during checkout. The system automatically checks your order and selects parcel delivery or truck delivery depending on the size and weight of the items.

With standard truck delivery, larger or bulky items are delivered directly into your home and placed in a room of your choice. Here you can find out how to book the delivery, what to consider on the delivery day and what to do after your order has arrived.

1. Select standard truck delivery

  1. Add the items you want to your shopping bag.
  2. Select “Standard delivery” during checkout.
  3. Based on the weight and size of the items, the system automatically determines whether your order will be delivered by parcel or truck.
  4. Select your preferred delivery date.
  5. Enter your contact details and delivery address.
  6. Depending on your postcode, select one of the available 4- or 6-hour delivery windows.
  7. Check your payment and delivery details, then confirm your order.
Please note: Before placing your order, make sure that the packages will fit through the doors, stairwell and other access points in your home.

2. Change or cancel your order

Changes to your order should be requested as early as possible to avoid additional charges.
Whether changes are still possible depends on how far your order has already progressed. This applies in particular to:
  • changes to the items
  • changes to the delivery date
  • changes to the time
  • changes to the delivery location
You can use the “Track and manage my order” tool to check the status of your delivery.
To cancel your order, you can do so through your IKEA Family profile or contact IKEA Customer Service.

3. Check your order confirmation

After completing your order, you will receive a confirmation by email and/or SMS.
It will include:
  • your selected delivery window
  • relevant contact information
Make sure that you can be present during the selected delivery window.

4. Prepare for the delivery day

A professional delivery driver will contact you 30 to 60 minutes before arrival.
If you miss the call, the driver will still try to complete the delivery.

Please make sure that

  • access to your flat or house is sufficient, clear and safe
  • an adult aged 18 or over is present throughout the delivery window
  • your order confirmation and contact details are ready
The person present should be able to supervise the delivery and check the delivered items.
Please note: If no one is at home and the driver cannot make contact, the delivery will be marked as unsuccessful. In this case, contact IKEA Customer Service to arrange a new delivery date. Additional charges may apply from the third delivery attempt onwards.

5. Receive and check your delivery

The driver will bring your items into your home and place them in a room of your choice.
Compare the delivered packages with your receipt and check them for possible damage.
The driver will report any visible packaging damage to IKEA. You can also contact IKEA Customer Service yourself if you have any further concerns.

6. What should you do after delivery?

Report any issues, such as damaged or missing items, to the delivery driver immediately.
If you need further support, contact IKEA Customer Service afterwards.
Important: If access to your home is unsafe or blocked, the driver cannot complete the delivery. In this case, IKEA will contact you to arrange a new delivery date.
