How does the "Standard Parcel Delivery" option works at IKEA?

Ordering process
a. Add smaller items (for example, décor, textiles or accessories) to your shopping cart and choose the “Standard - Delivery” option at checkout. The system will automatically select parcel delivery or freight delivery based on the weight and size of the items in your cart.
b. Plan a secure drop‑off location in case you cannot accept the delivery in person.
c. Enter your delivery address and check the shipping costs shown at checkout — these depend on weight and other order details.
d. Complete your purchase and check the confirmation email for the estimated delivery window.
e. Changes to parcel orders that have already been placed are not possible. Cancellation is only possible as long as the order has not yet been handed over for shipment.
Order processing and shipping
a. After your order is processed you will receive tracking information by email. Use your order number and the tracking link to follow the status of your shipment. On Post.at or in the Post app you’ll find helpful self‑service options such as redirecting the parcel, choosing a preferred delivery date, or leaving the parcel at a specified safe place or with a chosen neighbour.
b. Your order is shipped from a central warehouse and may be split into several parcels if needed. For larger orders, partial deliveries may occur.
Delivery process
a. Parcels will be delivered within the estimated delivery window provided. Please note there may be deviations.
b. Make sure you are present during the delivery times or that a secure drop‑off location is available for the driver. If you are not at home and no safe place is specified, a re‑delivery may be required (additional fees may apply). In that case, contact the parcel carrier directly to arrange a new delivery appointment.
