What can I do if parts are missing from my IKEA product?

If you have received a product or package with missing parts, you can order them online, collect them from an IKEA store or arrange delivery through IKEA Customer Service, depending on the type of part that is missing.

Is a part missing from your new IKEA product? Don’t worry: you can easily order spare parts online, collect them from an IKEA store or have them delivered to your home free of charge.

1. Check all packages first

Please check all the packages that you brought home or had delivered.
Some products come in several packages. Missing parts may therefore be inside another package.
Once you are sure that one or more parts are missing, the next steps depend on whether you can find a 6- or 8-digit spare part number in the assembly instructions.
Small spare parts, such as screws, fittings or wall plugs, are usually marked with this type of number.

2. Find the spare part number in the assembly instructions

Don’t have the assembly instructions?

No problem – you can access them at any time on IKEA.at:
  1. Search for the product using the search bar.
  2. Open “Product details” → “Assembly & documents” → “Assembly instructions”.

3. Can you find a 6- or 8-digit spare part number?

You can order the missing part directly online using the spare parts form.
The spare part will be delivered to your address free of charge, usually within 14 working days.

Do you need the part sooner?

You can also visit an IKEA store. Planning studios are excluded.
Customer Service desks usually have a small selection of spare parts available. If the part you need is in stock, you can take it home with you immediately.
If the part is not in stock, a co-worker will be happy to arrange free delivery to your home.

4. Can’t find a 6- or 8-digit spare part number?

If there is no spare part number, you have two options:

Visit an IKEA store

Please bring:
  • your purchase receipt
  • or your till receipt
If you used your IKEA Family card when making the purchase, you can also find your receipt online in your IKEA Family account under “Purchases/Orders”.
At the IKEA store, go to the Customer Service desk. This is usually located near the entrance or exit.
A co-worker will help you identify the missing part.
  • If the part is in stock, you can take it home immediately.
  • If it is not in stock, free delivery to your address will be arranged.
