Organising tips for shared walk-in closets

Everyone needs a space to call their own — even in shared closets or narrow spaces. Arrange an open storage wardrobe in the middle of the room, follow a few organisation tips, and you’ll be able to divide your space no matter how small or narrow.

Place your open wardrobe in the middle of the room by using floor to ceiling posts. A drawer can face one side, while the other pair faces the opposite. This creates an airy division, and you can weave in and out underneath the hangers.

Don’t let this narrow cabinet fool you: it only takes up a little bit of space, but can hold many pairs of shoes.

Lock up a few of your belongings and sport equipment in this small standout piece. The doors are magnetic too, so you can post reminders.

When your wardrobe is in the middle of the room, you can use your walls for more storage space. Mount shelves and hooks to hang up sports equipment (or even a surfing board!) This frees up floor space — and also turns your everyday items into display pieces.

Why not use SKÅDIS pegboards to hang your jewelry collection? Pin on a few shelves to hold your wallets and chunky bracelets.

Shelves aren’t just for books and picture frames: you can mount a column of ledges to hold your handbags. Having them out on display makes it easy to coordinate outfits on the spot (and easier to grab for a last-minute dinner date!)
