WeakThomasRod keeps falling down. I follow the instruction but it keeps slipping out of place and is too weak to hold up the shower curtain and liner. While I do love my IKEA shower curtain and liner, this rod is awful.
Doesn't stay upRentaroDuring the first year it fell maybe twice. Now it falls once a week. It looks like the internal mechanism no longer works as designed because the plastic parts are worn.
It works in a van!AshleyThis shower curtain is adjustable and able to hold itself to the sides of our van to curtain off the living space from the cab. It hasn’t fallen once. So I think it would be sturdy in a shower as well.
Don't buyElenaIt doesn't stay up for long. The ends don't gave afhesive or anything to make it more secure. The system doesn't work well, it constantly falls down, but you won't realize until a day later or so, so now we don't gave the original packaging and won't let me return it. Waste of money.
No Spring, no tensionKateI logged back into Ikea just to check if I had made an error with my purchase - i.e. this is just a rod, not a tension rod, or if this was defective - i.e. tension rod no spring. In my case it is a 'tension' rod with no spring. Buyer beware. It's a real pain to get to/from Ikea so this goes in the trash. If you want to chance it, when you buy in store, open the plastic before you leave the lot. Check for spring.

Won't stay upAnonymous reviewerI am a seasoned IKEA customer and was skeptical when others said it wouldn't stay up. I assumed they simply misread the instructions, but I was wrong. I installed the rod and was happy to see that it stayed in place... for all of three days. I woke up this morning to see it had fallen down. The spring seems to be defective as I can no longer get it to lock at the length I needed. Even in the locked position, a small amount of pressure will cause it to shrink in size, allowing it to fall down. I'm so disappointed—I loved the look of it. I will be returning it next time I'm at IKEA.
Shower rodNanWas a bit tricky to extend and give tension had to work with it for a bit to get the correct length. Hopefully it does not rust. I don’t believe it will with the shower rings we also got to use along with. Told the kids don’t pull on it. Hopefully it hold up

It's just junk...RayeWeren't tension rods perfected in like the 30's (and by that I mean 1830s). This one is hard to adjust and doesn't stay up. It's cheap and still not worth it. Spend the extra money for a real one with a spring.
