Good to know

1 door will fit BILLY bookcase 15¾" and 2 doors will fit BILLY bookcase 31½".

Can be used on the corner unit only if the shelf next to it has no doors.

The door does not fit bookcases purchased in the spring of 2014 or earlier.

Tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger and more resistant to breaking than regular glass. In case it would break, it shatters into many granular pieces to reduce the risk of injury.

After we came home and put the item together we realized we were missing one more door. Wish it would have specifically said pick two of these. Be sure to order 2LisaI ordered this with the Billy bookcase, then spent 10 minutes looking for the second door, only to realize the Oxford size is one half Billy, so now i have to order a second, and pay more for shipping. Overall, fairly easy to install, and the cabinet looks good. 4 stars because there are some noticeable chips on the dark wood, and tiny bits of white are visible. 4

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
