Floating Shelf StabilityAnonymous reviewerHad a professional put up my floating shelves & so disappointed they are not sturdy. When the hinge is fixed to the wall flush the shelf does not sit sturdy even when extra screws are used & the acres to secure the shelf does not make the shelf sturdy. The shelf looks great but are not a tight fit which leaves the shelf with a wobble. Very disappointed having paid a joiner to fit them.
You must hit a stud! Anonymous reviewerThese are really good shelves but it is very important you get some of the fixings into a stud or they will lean and pull a nice chunk of plasterboard of you aren’t careful. If they lean at all you haven’t got them secured correctly, but once properly installed they’re sturdy and hold a decent amount of stuff. I’ve used them for toiletries in my wetroom and would totally recommend!

Nice, but a fall from the wall.Anonymous reviewerSecured the wall bracket to the wall nice and secure. Needed to drill some convenient holes in the metalwork for the fixings though, but the outcome is tight.
The shelf though when put on to the support is slack. When pushed on tight and the securing screws tighten, there is too much play in the shelve that there is a fall away from the wall- about 1cm drop from the back to the front edge.
Once I get over the disappointment I will see if some larger screws with tight the box shelf to the wall bracket.

The shelf itself is really well made, but the 'floating effect' bracket needed some packing out so that the shelf didn't slope. We managed, and are overall very satisfied with the shelf.

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
