Love this, had one for years. Stopper issueAnonymous reviewerI love my carafe, use it by my bed with water. The cork doesn’t touch water and is washed after every use and left to dry naturally but the half of cork stopper that sits in the bottle is discoloured. I can’t say it’s mould, doesn’t come off etc but isn’t very assuring. Replacement corks could be an option or maybe a round glass stopper or plastic but I see why you want to stay away from plastic.

Lovely bottle but.. Anonymous reviewerLovely shaped bottle for the fridge door and quality of the glass is very nice but the cork stopper isn't suitable if it's a liquid you want to store. It's impossible to clean it properly for liquids (although IKEA answers all our reviews that say this, with the cleaning instructions) and it does get impregnated/mouldy. An alternative cap option would be great.

What is cork?
Cork comes from cork oak bark which is carefully cut from the tree’s trunk. It then takes about nine years until the tree forms new bark that can be harvested. Since a cork oak can live to be aged 150-200, each one produces a lot of cork during its lifetime. Cork has several good qualities as a material: it’s lightweight, flexible, waterproof and naturally resists fire. We use it in furniture and accessories.
