Under the sink is a sound-absorbing material which reduces resonances in the metal when using the sink, thus lowering the sound level.

    When stainless steel is new, it is natural that the first scratches are visible. They become less visible over time as the material is used and gets a more matte tone.

Bad drainage and terrible with water spots Anonymous reviewerSink isn’t sloped enough towards drain leaving puddles ALL over the bottom; puddles around the drain cause ugly ring; included sound dampening pads useless had to buy from non-IKEA; terrible water spotting even though we have a water softener. Installed by IKEA installers. Would not recommend this to anyone!1
