The chair is incredibly comfortable and beautifully designed. Unlike many gaming chairs on the market that can look bulky or unattractive, this one has a very elegant, refined appearance. Very comfortable office chsirThomasI know that this chair is advertise as a gaming chair, but I use it as my office chair as it is perfectly comfortable. The curve fits my back perfectly and really doesn’t allow for slouching when you fully sit back in the chair. This, in combination with a sit-stand desk is much better for the body than just sitting in a big cushy chair all day, waiting for your body to wither away. This old man LOVES this chair.
almost wonderfulMichaelthere's a lot to love about this chair, its ergonomic, relatively comfortable, and has lots of adjustment. As others have mentioned, these "locking" casters are maddening, they lock when there's no weight in the chair, making it really annoying to push back under the desk, and tbh, I weigh about 150 lbs and even seated, the wheels don't really feel like they unlock and roll all that well.
There are limited "stops" on the back angle adjust, making each setting quite different, and for me at least, I feel like the "sweet spot" is right in between 2 of the positions which is a little frustrating, but my posture has certainly improved as a result.
But, all in all, 6 months later, I'm still enjoying this chair far, far more than the one it replaced. I just wish for the relatively high price, it had more granular adjustments, and "nice" wheels, as I will be spending even more to replace these silly wheels with normal ones.
Good but not great, poor headrest designJamesThe chair itself is comfortable provided you know what you're choosing with this: it's a mesh chair with safety casters that lock without weight pushing down on them. If the casters bug you, they're easy enough to swap out with an aftermarket purchase. But, they can also be useful for situations where you have hard floors that are just uneven enough that the chair may roll on its own without safety casters.
The biggest problem is the design of the headrest. The bar of the headrest fits into a square plastic clamshell that is held together with pointed metal screws going into plastic threads. The headrest's bar is held in place by two rubber O rings stacked atop each other to let you adjust it via tension/friction holding the bar in place. Over time pressure on the headrest pulls the metal screws out of the plastic threads. I now have to tighten the clamshell screws on the headrest about once a month. I'm past the 180 day window, so it is what it is.

Save yourself time and from injury by getting the correct screw for the headrest. The supplied m5-.80 screw will not screw in to the piece that supports the headrest. I stabbed my finger with a screw driver trying to get it in. I ended up going to the hardware store and got the proper self tapping screw and it’s all good now.

Comfortable but terrible design and HEAVYAnnaI had to have another headrest sent to me because the first one continued to strip the ONE screw used to install it. The way it's designed makes it IMPOSSIBLE to get the screw in properly, so even for the second headrest I got, the screws stripped and the headrest kept wanting to pop off as I tried to install it. I'm a bike mechanic, I am mechanically inclined. This is absolutely atrotious for a design and especially for almost $400!!!!
On top of that, the base is incredibly heavy and when you lift up the chair, the base falls off, so just pray your foot isn't underneath it. I will be asking for a partial refund considering I can't even use the headrest.
It's also designed for a huge man, and I'm a petite woman, so the arm rests are stupidly far apart with no adjustability for me.
Best Desk Chair IKEA SalesShelbyThis is the most ergonomic IKEA desk chair. I have a $1200 Herman Miller Aaron chair at work, and this chair is comparable in ergonomic features.
1. The chair has forward tilt, which you rarely find in a chair under $1000.
2. The armrests are 3d meaning they move up, down, and swivel left, right. They're padded and not hard as a rock like the Grupspel chair.
3. The lumbar support moves up and down
4. The seat pans moves forwards and backwards
5. The mesh surface is breathable and comfortable in shorts (the Aaron chair is not comfortable in shorts)
My primary concern is the sturdiness of the lumbar support. It's made out of a fairly thin piece of plastic, which may break for people who weigh over 200 pounds. This is an issue that plagues other chairs with this design including more expensive Steelcase chairs.
I wish IKEA offered a 10-year warranty on their gaming chairs like they do on their office chairs.
Worst IKEA product I've ever purchasedAnonymous reviewerI usually love Ikea products. Indeed, I'd never had a bad experience - until this chair. I put the seat on, sat in it and it immediately sank all the way down and won't go up. For $400 the hydraulic should work. I didn't even finish putting it together. I am so annoyed, the closest Ikea is an hour away, so now I have to waste both time and gas to take it back. Also, that stupid little screw that holds the headrest on is nearly impossible to get in and it won't tighten enough to keep the headrest in place. I am hoping I can get a refund on this terrible product.

Sitting in it at home for 20 minutes and I realize I've made a terrible mistake. This is the most uncomfortable chair I've sat in. I woke up in pain from using it to study the previous day. Good chairKatherineI bought this chair for my WFH job. Now I am not sitting 8 hours a day so for the time I do spend sitting it has been comfortable for me. The chair wheels move easily if you are sitting on it. This works great for me as I do not want to scratch up the wall behind me with a roll away chair. I gave 4 stars because the screw for the headrest does not work and I will have to go buy one that fits properly. Also, the price range. Other than that, I am enjoying my chair.
