Beautiful but poorly madeBonnieI purchased the natural canvas cover and really love the look! The fit was very loose until I washed it but it fits perfectly now. However, every time I was it a new seam comes undone. I got the foot stool version too and haven’t had any problems so maybe I just got a bad one? But it’s very frustrating to have it unraveling when I wash it. It is very cute though.
What a disappointmentChristaI was very excited that Ikea finally offered slipcovers for the Strandmon. They looked very nice and soft on display in the store. When I got them home and washed them, I air dried as directions stated. For one, they smell awful. Like a fish tackle shop or something. And they are like the roughest dropcloth you've ever picked up. Our ikea is terrible about "used" returns and wont take things back so I'll have to keep them. For the cost, and Ikea's reputation I had high hopes. THis was a big spend for me to up date that chairs. Now I cringe to have my skin touch the cover. I HOPE they soften up and the smell fades
PS I just looked at the photo again (this was the color in the store. MUCH darker beige in person. THey are indeed listed as the same color "linen"

True that it is not the same all-terrain quality that Ikea had pre-covid, but if you are not a giant monster who mistreats furniture they will last you this life time. Most importantly, they are super comfy. Buy it with the washable cover and all of your dreams will come true.
Great change!AmandaI’m so glad they came out with some covers because my light aqua chairs were looking dingy. They fit a little loosely when I first put them on, but once they went through the washer and dryer, they fit much better, just right. The wrinkle didn’t fall out right away, but they are mostly out now that they’ve been on the chairs for a couple of weeks.

ComfyLindaRecently purchased Strandmon chair. I was looking for a chair with a high back, that was sturdy, not expensive and had a slipcover. This chair checked every box. Fits well in the space. Great reading, watching t.v., knitting chair. I bought two. Instructions were simple to follow and a little tricky at the end to put together. Once the first one was assembled, the second chair was easier.
SlipcoverShirleeDoesn’t fit well. Baggy & it has to be ironed! Took almost an hour to iron as it has a lot of pieces sewn together. A stretchy material would be so much nicer! As would more colors.
Great!AprilSo glad they came out with this - I wish they would make it in a washable white denim/duck fabric and other colors as well. It fits a little looser than I would like, so it looks a little drab and frumpy in the wrong light, but I haven't washed it yet. We've had the cover for about a year and seems to be holding up against daily use and our cat very well.
