Product details

The table surface in walnut veneer and legs in solid walnut give a warm, natural feeling to your room.

The distinctive grain pattern in the walnut veneer gives each table a unique character.

Walnut is a naturally hardwearing material. The surface has been made even more durable by a protective coat of lacquer.

The leaf-shaped tables look decorative in the room. You can arrange them separately or put them together to create a large coffee table.

High qualityJung S.High quality and looks nice. Not stacked entirely but good enough.5
Very nice and versatile coffee tableReneeI have a habit of sitting on the carpet to watch TV while having dinner. This coffee table works perfectly as my dinner table as well : )5
Very solid, easy to assemble, beautiful designWe were scouring local furniture stores for a Scandinavian-style coffee/cocktail table for our loveseat area, and came across the Stockholm tables on the Ikea site. Very solid, and very easy to put together (once you realize you need to screw the legs on so the flat side of the leg aligns with the straight line on the underside of the table top). Took under 15 minutes to assemble. And it's clear by the solid look and feel that the Stockholm line is top-of-the-line at Ikea. As other reviewers have noted, these aren't true nesting tables, where one table fits completely under the other. More like "tucking" tables. But that suits our purpose perfectly and is very flexible for layout. Also was carefully packed when shipped (the product box inside a larger sturdy box with good paper cushioning) so arrived in perfect condition.5
Little guy is too shortJessicaThese are really handsome tables, and look great in the room with other walnut pieces. Only fussy bit is the little guy is too short to serve as an end table (as I had intended for the pair). So the tall one is now an end table and the diminutive one is a happy little plant stand.4
One leg of the biggerSylvi4One leg of the bigger table does not attach correctly3
Love these tablesSMS57I bought these to use as coffee tables for great flexibility. We can easily move them aside to play with the grandkids on the floor. They are very sturdy & I love the look! I was actually looking at cheaper coffee tables but decided the extra expense was worth it! Also not a lot to assemble which we loved! Just screw on the legs.5
Very UsefulDianaBobadillaI just wish they could match with another table, so the tall one, should be taller.4
ShortyGilly415Tables are shorter than i expected.4
Nesting tablesjealeasI love the nesting tables but one of them has a funky design under the finish but I try to overlook that4
Very useful in a small spaceVerified BuyerVery easy to put together. Really nice veneer. They look more expensive than they really are. While they don't really nest, the smaller one does fit partially under the larger one, somewhat creating a coffee table if you want to use them that way. They are great in our small space because we can easily move them out of the way when we want to.5
Doesn't nest!Last11215It's called a nesting table, but the small one doesn't fit (nest) under the larger one. Akward!1

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet attached to things like particleboard to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak, and beech, and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

Details create long-term quality. When I designed the STOCKHOLM series, I used lacquer that protects the surface and makes the material feel natural. The big picture was key, and the robust look is also on the inside and the backside. The slightly higher legs add simplicity to the expression and the table’s soft lines and the straight design of the storage units create contrasts, just like in nature. The result is timeless furniture ‒ just as beautiful alone as together!
