Product details

The air purifier can be set to auto mode, which means that it automatically detects the particles (PM2.5) in the air and then adjusts the fan speed, so you can think about other things.

Our air purifiers are AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) certified. This means that all air purifiers from IKEA are thoroughly tested to ensure efficiency in the disposal of harmful allergens like tobacco smoke, dust and pollen.

Make the most of STARKVIND in the IKEA Home smart app using DIRIGERA hub. Adjust fan speed, check current air quality status, set timers and create scenes with your other smart home products.

With the IKEA Home smart app, you can turn on your air purifiers even when you're away – to make sure the air quality is good when coming home.

You can sleep with the air purifier on since it is very quiet at the lower fan speeds. If connected to the IKEA Home smart app, you can also turn the LED light off on the unit when going to sleep.

You can hide the cable in one of the table legs and inside the air purifier to avoid cable clutter.

FunctionalJaniceMy husband has a lot of allergies so we liked being able to put this next to his chair in the living room. It will be interesting to see how the filter is to clean or replace.5
Finally, an attractive useful air filter!ClaireI love this. The table is attractive, and it works great for filtering air. Now, add wireless charging and it will be all it needs to be!5
Very nice table.SarahVery nice table.4
Like look and functionKatyLove look and function. Have not changed filters yet, so not sure how often or how easy that will be. But so far so good.5
Phenomenal designAlbertNot the cheapest but worth every penny. Stylish, quiet, unobtrusive. A must-have for anybody living in wildfire country.5
Lovely designQiI haven’t had the chance to use the air filtration part of the stand yet, but it was a snap to put together and it’s a beautiful looking little table stand. Thank you!5
Awesome productCynthiaAwesome product5
Shweeeet!FranciscaI love this air filter. The fan power you get at max level was a surprise. I didn’t expect it to cool the room down like it does. Plus the filter is very thick, so it filters the air very well. At first I had to use the filter without the table top because the room needed extra filtration. Without the top the suction power was so efficient. But, now with the top it’s bring much elegance to the room. With a nice table lamp you couldn’t even tell it was an air filter. I’m definitely buying more for other rooms in the house. It’s been two months and I only been having to clean the top filter once or twice, every two weeks.5
Looks nice and functionalMarkAir purifier that doubles as an end table. What else can you ask for? It's a little expensive as compared to an equivalent air purifier with similar capability, but this doesn't look like a big brick like other purifiers.5
Such a genius design!MaxwellI just had to have this. I’ve always had an awkwardly empty corner in my living room with an air purifier on the floor. I’ve been wanting to put a little table there with a plant and some other things, but I didn’t like the idea of my air purifier sitting under it, and there’s no other place for me to put it. Well, this solves that problem! I can’t believe nobody has though of building a purifier into a table before, but leave it to IKEA! And luckily, it’s not just a great idea, it’s also a great product. The quality is unbelievable for the price, it looks just as good as the photos, and I love that they think about the little things, like hiding the cable in the leg. The hum of the purifier is also pretty pleasant, even at the highest setting. The fact that there’s an auto mode that adjusts to how dirty your air is is another plus! I don’t plan on using the HomeKit connection, but it works great even without connecting it to your smart home setup, just in case anybody was wondering.5
This is the one.JWe have gone through several air purifiers from well-known South Korean brands and have to say that we wish they were as well thought out as this one. The design is functional and aesthetic. The app works as expected and we have had no software issues or conflicts to work around. We have only had the unit for about a month so I am not ready to identify the overall longevity but can comment on the following: 1. It is quiet. Library quiet. When it is in auto mode and running on the lowest setting you would be hard pressed to hear it at all. 2. The auto setting is accurate to the air quality. We have a very sensitive air quality meter that reads PM2.5, tVOC, CO2, etc. and noticed that after cooking something two rooms away that the sensor was in the red. The sensor was in the same room as this purifier which was already running higher to alleviate the condition. This is impressive. If I am able to comment further after more time has elapsed, I will update this review.5
Soo quiet, 2-1 usefullnessCatherineThe table and air filter couldn't be better than this! Extremely quiet. Can also be used as lite white noise for napping and nighttime sleeping.5
STARKVIND Table with air purifier, stained oak veneer/dark brown smart

Purifies your air and holds your cup

Is STARKVIND a table or an air purifier? Both! At IKEA, we like to think differently to get as much as possible out of every space. One way to do it is to integrate two functions in one product.

The idea of STARKVIND first came up when Paul Larsson, who is one of our most experienced engineers working with air purifiers, brainstormed ideas with his colleagues. “With our knowledge in furniture, we have a unique opportunity to integrate tech in the home and combine materials like plastic, metal, textiles, and wood in a safe way.”

It’s OK to spill

But, what happens if the coffee cup you put on the table tips over and the coffee comes near the air purifier? It was, of course, a scenario Paul and the team had thought of. “It’s about stopping a drip before it reaches the fan in the air purifier. First, we thought about putting a rubber strip under the tabletop but then realized we could remove instead of add.” Underneath the tabletop, you can feel thin grooves in the wood. “The liquid gathers in the grooves and drips on the floor instead of trickling down in the air purifier. It was an idea that proved so good that we have patented it.”

Tough quality tests

Combining an air purifier and a table meant new, strict quality tests. “To live up to our standards, STARKVIND had to be able to withstand a pressure of 220 pounds from above in 10-second intervals and pressure from the sides 10,000 times. These are tests we always do for tables, but nothing we normally expose an air purifier to.” Paul says that all product development is a balance between practical and aesthetic solutions, and STARKVIND felt extra important to get just right. “It feels good to be able to contribute to cleaner indoor air by something that blends in and becomes a natural part of the home.”
