The air purifier can be set to auto mode, which means that it automatically detects the particles (PM2.5) in the air and then adjusts the fan speed, so you can think about other things.
Our air purifiers are AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) certified. This means that all air purifiers from IKEA are thoroughly tested to ensure efficiency in the disposal of harmful allergens like tobacco smoke, dust and pollen.
Make the most of STARKVIND in the IKEA Home smart app using DIRIGERA hub. Adjust fan speed, check current air quality status, set timers and create scenes with your other smart home products.
With the IKEA Home smart app, you can turn on your air purifiers even when you're away – to make sure the air quality is good when coming home.
You can sleep with the air purifier on since it is very quiet at the lower fan speeds. If connected to the IKEA Home smart app, you can also turn the LED light off on the unit when going to sleep.
You can hide the cable in one of the table legs and inside the air purifier to avoid cable clutter.

The air purifier comes with a particle filter so it purifies the air from various particles as efficiently as possible. You can also buy a gas filter and use the two filters together.
This smart product can also be connected to a TRÅDFRI gateway.
Purifies the air in a space of up to 215 square feet, depending on which fan speed the air purifier is set to.
It will take longer time to purify the air if the room is larger than 215 square feet, but you can always use several air purifiers to cover a larger area.
This product is part of our smart home range. Connect it, along with other smart products, to DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home smart app for more features and functions, that you can control from anywhere, not just when you're at home.
The particle filter is optimized to filter away approximately 99.5% of smaller airborne particles such as PM2.5 particles, dust, and pollen.
PM2.5 are small inhalable particles, that measure 0.1-2.5 micrometers.
The gas filter (sold separately) purifies the air from various gaseous pollutants such as formaldehyde, which can be found in things like cleaning/household products and various fabrics and materials.
The gas filter helps to reduce the odor of smoke, cooking odors and other unpleasant odors that may be present in the home.
You can set the air purifier to five different fan speeds, and thereby adapt it to the needs of your home, or you can use it in auto mode.
If you want to use a voice assistant, you can connect to Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, or Google Home through integrations in the IKEA Home smart app.
Check the filter regularly to see if it’s dirty. An LED indicator illuminates when you need to check your filters and possibly replace them. The filter is recommended to be replaced within 6 months.
The particle filter is tested according to EN 1822-1 and ISO 29463-3 which corresponds to class EPA12.
Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) with particle and gas filter or only particle filter: Lowest fan speed 26.4/29.4 CFM, highest fan speed 141/153 CFM.
Noise level with particle and gas filter or only particle filter: Lowest fan speed 24/24 dB, highest fan speed 51/53 dB.
Power consumption with particle and gas filter or only particle filter: Lowest fan speed 1.9/2W, highest fan speed 25/33W.

Purifies your air and holds your cup
Is STARKVIND a table or an air purifier? Both! At IKEA, we like to think differently to get as much as possible out of every space. One way to do it is to integrate two functions in one product.
The idea of STARKVIND first came up when Paul Larsson, who is one of our most experienced engineers working with air purifiers, brainstormed ideas with his colleagues. “With our knowledge in furniture, we have a unique opportunity to integrate tech in the home and combine materials like plastic, metal, textiles, and wood in a safe way.”
It’s OK to spill
But, what happens if the coffee cup you put on the table tips over and the coffee comes near the air purifier? It was, of course, a scenario Paul and the team had thought of. “It’s about stopping a drip before it reaches the fan in the air purifier. First, we thought about putting a rubber strip under the tabletop but then realized we could remove instead of add.” Underneath the tabletop, you can feel thin grooves in the wood. “The liquid gathers in the grooves and drips on the floor instead of trickling down in the air purifier. It was an idea that proved so good that we have patented it.”
Tough quality tests
Combining an air purifier and a table meant new, strict quality tests. “To live up to our standards, STARKVIND had to be able to withstand a pressure of 220 pounds from above in 10-second intervals and pressure from the sides 10,000 times. These are tests we always do for tables, but nothing we normally expose an air purifier to.” Paul says that all product development is a balance between practical and aesthetic solutions, and STARKVIND felt extra important to get just right. “It feels good to be able to contribute to cleaner indoor air by something that blends in and becomes a natural part of the home.”
