Terrible Quality TaraI bought eight chairs and four of them are irreparably broken one year later. 1
Defective screw hole prevents proper assemblyAliciaOne of the screw holes on the chair is defective. The hole is not drilled deep enough and does not have proper threads, so the screw cannot be tightened or installed as shown in the assembly instructions.
Because of this manufacturing defect, one side of the chair can only be secured with 2 screws instead of the 3 screws it was designed to use. I tried following the instructions carefully, but the third screw simply cannot be installed because the hole itself was not manufactured correctly.
This is especially disappointing because it affects the proper assembly and stability of the chair. IKEA should improve the quality control for these pre-drilled/threaded holes.1
FlimsyDruPurchased these a little over 2 years ago. After about a year they started falling apart. The backs split where they are jointed and glued together, the leg braces snap off, we even had one collapse while a dinner guest was sitting on it. We are currently down to 1 out of 6. Spend your money on something sturdier and avoid the headache.1
Love the chairRhondaGood quality4
Great chairNicholasLove it!5
Easy Assembly CharleneEach chair took less than 10 min to assemble. Sturdy. 5
Great dining room chairJoseI really liked this chair because the back is rounded which makes it comfortable to sit in. I also liked how the chair had different wood colors on them.5
Poor quality SebastianPurchased 4 chairs all broken within 9 months.1
Weak joints cause breakdown AlysonWe purchased 10 of these chairs and in the year and half since, half of them have broken almost all at the same crossbar joint on the bottom. The style is nice but they are insufficiently durable for our family. 1
Bad qualityMandiThese chairs were easy to build and look great with our table, however 3 out of 8 chairs have broken within 7 months with normal use. We usually love Ikea furniture, but these are not the quality we expect from Ikea.1
All 6 Broke Within MonthsTzippyWe purchased 6 SKOGSTA chairs about 9 months ago, and unfortunately every single one of them has broken, each in a different place.
This is very disappointing and clearly not a case of normal wear and tear. When all 6 chairs fail within such a short period, it strongly suggests a quality issue with the product.1
Quality chairRachealChair is very well made especially for the price. Back is comfotable.5
Will not hold up to normal useMichaelBought two of these chairs, both were broken within 9 months from normal every day use. Stay away!1
Poor ValueLeviChairs came with already stripped out screw-holes, sit unevenly in spite of proper construction according to the instructions provided, and the material is so light it cannot withstand tightening of fasteners without cracking. Not worth the time spent shopping for them, let alone the price paid.1
Truly a safety riskMeaghanI hate writing reviews like this but all 4 of my chairs broke within 8 months. I was eating dinner and the chair collapsed causing me to slam my head. We tried to save money buying these but it was a mistake sadly.1
Do not waste your moneyChristinePurchaced these when I was redoing my dinning room. Within a few months they were falling apart. Breaking under the weight of my younger kids.1
DangerousCatherineThese chairs are not sturdy. They break very easily. There have been several times the chairs have broken and a person has ended up on the floor with bruises. Thankfully nothing serious, but there are elderly people in our home. We have to replace all of the ones we purchased. You should recall them.1
Acacia chairBarbaraWe bought four of these chairs. These came packed very well. Very easy to assemble. Look very nice.5
