Best containerNafi85Great for the kids toys ! I love the fact that it has wheels so we can move it around the house with no hassle5
Excellent Hamster PlaypenHamstermonAfter our hamster chewed out of his small playpen (not regular cage but daytime play area for when kids are playing with him) I bought this bin. It’s a great size and the walls are high enough to prevent the chance of escape. Bonus that it’s on wheels and easy to move, very easy to clean.5
Really useful featuresKlvmWe were looking for a large cat litter box, and this fits the bill. We used a laser cutter to cut out a doorway entrance for the cats. The handy wheels make it easy to pull the box in and out for scooping, plus you can turn the wheels so that you can set it to pull by the narrow side or the wide side. When we needed to change the way we stored the cat litter box, it took just a minute to switch all the wheels. The smooth sides make it easy to clean and less interesting for our cats to scratch it. As for its use as a regular storage container, It's see through, so that's handy. It's large and can hold a lot of things like bedding or Christmas ornaments. We don't use the lid, but the lid works great, too. The wheels are handy and can be installed in 2 different directions, and in case you don't need wheels, you don't need to put them on. Plus, the price is great. This was a much better price and product than brands you'd find at Home Depot or Target.5

Awesome storage capacitySilaidivRecently purchased a platform bed where I'm able to store containers under it. The containers fit perfectly. Very happy about that because my home has minimal storage space and these containers came in handy. ♥️5

Lid Clips Discontinuedcurtailed2I wanted to buy some Samla storage boxes this weekend since they are on sale. However, Ikea discontinued the clips that keep the lids on making these containers useless if you are trying to use them for long-term storage. What's the point of selling lids if they don't stay on?1
Waste of money - Ikea discontinue locking clips.CaligirlAll of the SAMLA boxes do not have lids that snap shut. Ikea discontinued the locking clips that came in two sizes for all of the SAMLA system. Unless you are stacking boxes one on another and they are heavy there is no guaranteed airtight seal. We are storing extra linens in the garage so we needed an airtight seal. Ended up ordering clips from Ebay in England which was ridiculously expensive (and the clips are hard to find online). Ikea has no explanation why their storage bin clips are no longer produced and continue to sell these boxes with lids that just sit on top. If you need storage with airtight seals (for clothes, books, fabrics, anything that dust, bugs, or humidity has to be controlled for) don't buy anything from this line.1
Basic StoragegetmeoutThe product is OK for basic storage needs. However, the lids don't fit snugly and easily pop off. Don't store anything in here you need to be super protected from the elements, the lid won't guard very well so you are at risk. I'll found something different for the winter clothes I was storing in the basement. It is fine for storing things that don't required the lid to be sealed. Is very light weight and stackable.2
FearlesspatPlease don't discountiue these bins! My storage unit flooded and all of my things were protected by these bins. No water inside the bins. Please please don't discountiue these bins5
Myzz WestI bought this product and I am very glad I did. To these binds are awesome especially to the wheels on to the bottom.5
Great price BUT the lid won"t closeSofia HartI bought this for some Christmas decorations. I bought a total of three and unfortunately none of the containers' lids close. The only way I was able to keep them close was to stack one next to the other.2
CandiceBKGood size, fits lots of pots and pans. The wheels make it very convenient.5
Heavy duty storage with rollersMememyBought one and went back for two more for bedding and pillows. If they had a locking lid I would buy more.4

For the things that take up space in our hearts and homes

For the heavy and dirty. The holidays and the different seasons. Your collections or bulky possessions. Someone else’s stuff. For just in case. For the things you want to remember or everything you want to forget. For clothes, tools, flower pots.

Sometimes it can feel like the things we have collected through the years control us instead of the other way around. And it can be tricky to find the right place to store all the things we need, but don’t use every day. Storage adapted to the rougher areas of the home, is one way to get around the problem. It can help you organize things in the not-so-organized garage, down in the basement, up in the attic or even under the floorboards. And protect your things from humidity, dust and scary spiders.

Different sizes help to sort things and thoughts

Do you want to get organized and stay that way? You’re not alone. With boxes in different sizes, it becomes easier to find just the right place for everything, both the nick-nacks and the big and heavy stuff. And you can make better use of the nooks and crannies you have at home. You can have small boxes for little things and tiny spaces, and large boxes wherever you have space to spare.

Organize. Store. Relax.

Sometimes it can feel like the home is a black hole where things get lost all the time. A lid on your storage box can be a simple solution for that. Some of the lids come with the boxes when you buy them, and some are sold separately. A few have locks that seal the boxes and protect what’s inside – it’s good in damp environments like storage rooms and garages. Many boxes become stackable when you put lids on them, but for safety reasons, you shouldn’t stack them higher than 35".

Hide your things within sight

A storage box doesn’t always have to be something you put stuff in, put away and then forget. But if you want to do that, colored boxes are probably something for you. With different colors for different things, it becomes easier to organize your belongings. Transparent boxes are perfect for stuff you often look for, like gadgets or tools. You get a quick overview of what’s inside the boxes without having to pull them out – something that can save both time and frustration.

Storage boxes tested for unusual everydays

Some boxes might look the same, but that doesn’t mean they are manufactured in the same way or with similar materials. The best way to find out if they can take everyday use (and some unexpected events) is to test them. Then you can be sure that the stuff you store – your collections, necessities and memories – stay undamaged and safe. Here are some of the tests we do for our boxes.

The lift test

To make sure the handles hold, and that the construction is sturdy, we have a strong machine that does a lift test. It imitates a person who lifts up a box with up to 110 lbs. Just like someone that stores seasonal things in the garage might do. The machine lifts the box up to 10,000 times. That’s equal to if you would take out and put back your holiday decorations once a year for more than 2,000 years

The push and pull test

Everyday life puts tough demands on our objects at home. That’s why we think it’s important to test our boxes. To make sure they can be dragged on hard and uneven floor surfaces, we have a machine that pushes and pulls the boxes, with weights inside them – up to 10,000 times – depending on which box we’re testing. The biggest boxes are tested with up to 110 lbs, or a collection of approximately 200 paperback books. With the test, we control that the construction and the materials work as expected. So you can drag and pull heavy stuff on rough floors for years and years.

The stacking test

If you have a lot of things to stow away, you might want to stack boxes on top of each other. It saves valuable floor space and gives room for other parts of life than storage. We always test our boxes by putting weights in them and then stacking them. The test is done to control that the lids, the wheels and the bottom of the boxes aren’t affected by heavy weights. It’s also a way to see how high the boxes can be stacked before they become unstable. To reduce the tipping risk, we recommend that you don’t stack them higher than 35".

Function/solution

Hard to get apart?

When SAMLA boxes are stacked on top of one another a vacuum of air forms, which can make it hard to separate them. Just push or pull the long sides of the box lightly as illustrated above. This lets in a little air and makes it easy to separate the boxes.
