Unsure how to openPamelaI didn't see instructive pictures on how to release the arms on this and thought I might break them if I pulled hard, but took the risk and pulled on 1 harder and it opened, so then I realized I need to pull harder on all the other arms. I wish the curved hanger part was larger, as it does not fit over my clothes rod. The device, though, is very handy for hanging small items. I use it mostly for socks.
Hook too smallMikeI love this concept and everything on it works as it appears, however the hanging hook is too small for a standard hangar bar making it effectively unusable for it's intended purpose in a laundry room.

Highly effective, mildly judgmental.Jennifer NathreenI bought this specifically to manage the endless cycle of bras, underwear, and delicates that can’t go in the dryer, and it’s absolutely perfect. It keeps everything separated, air-dries things quickly, and saves a ton of space without taking over the entire main drying rack. That being said, hanging your unmentionables on a wide-eyed octopus is an experience. It permanently looks like it has seen some things. Highly recommend if you want great laundry organization and a little chuckle under the watchful eyes of a cartoon sea monster every time you do chores.

Cute But Has IssuesJenniferThis octopus is adorable! It is practical and useful for hanging socks, bras, and small items…..until the clips start breaking. Half the clips are broken and IKEA doesn’t offer replacements for purchase. I’ve been improvising with the Slibb clothes pins. Also, the hook at the top is too small to hang from my shower curtain rod. Would be nice to have a bigger hook and replacement clips.

I love this little octopus!!SarahThis incredible little find is essential in my life from spring through fall - and hangs out on my porch and holds bras, underwear, and socks that I don't want on the clothesline in the backyard. I've had mine for 15+ years and I'm finally replacing it only because two of the clips have failed and I can definitely use them all. I'm not getting rid of my old one though - it's coming inside and going on trips with me!
Clips snap and breakMaryI have purchased and repurchased many of these dryers over the years. At least 3 of them have had every single clip snap and break. Search online and you will see that many people have tried to 3d print replacement clips on their own for at least the last 5 years. IKEA prides itself on sustainability and reuse. I’m asking IKEA to please provide replacement clips for purchase so that we don’t keep repurchasing the entire drying unit, as that seems terribly wasteful and bad for our planet.
Great productMelandiaI already owned one of these. I use it to hang CPAP supplies on, like the hoses and face mask parts when I clean them every week. I hang this on a drying rake and then attach the CPAP parts. The hoses and other parts dry pretty quick. I bought an extra one to have since the Ikea near me is closing soon. I will be sad when Ikea closes.

Love my octopus!NancyThis octopus dryer is now home to keep company with my red octopus dryer that I've had for about 10 years or so. Perfect for drying wool socks and bras--stuff that fares badly in the electric dryer. Also helps to humidify the home in winter--a bonus!
