Okay, but!MicheleTable is perfect size. Or it would be, if I can get the sliding portion to work. It was easy to put together until I got to the backside. The alignment is completely off. Can’t figure out how to get it to work. So as it stands, I can’t get it to slide so it’s going to stay bigger than it needs to unless I can figure out how to get it to work properly.
I have a very small place and was really looking forward to get this table because the idea of it being able to be longer and then shorter was fantastic however, I can’t seem to get the alignment completely right.

Totally Disappointed in the QualityJohnThe black tabletop is only lightly painted black with no permanent finish on it as do the sides. It marks and mars just with moving your hands and fingers across. I'm really embarrased and have to keep a tablecloth on it. Nice looking tableRoxanneI purchased this table a couple of weeks ago. I knew I wouldn't be able to put it together so had someone else assemble it. I'm 76 now and miss the days of getting on the floor and doing that. I have the white one replacing a large and heavy oak table for more space now. I love everything about it except for the difficulty in getting the drop leaf up and down. I don't have as much trouble putting it up (pushing the tabletop forward but bringing it back down is tough. I have to pull the release underneath and then try to slide the heavy top toward me. That means, pulling on the leaf which feels like it could possibly come apart after too many times or I grab the tabletop from the sides and rock it back down. Either way, I hope I don't have to do it often as it might just come apart. Even at that, I wouldn't send it back. I love the size, the look of it, and it's perfect for the space I have.
