Norberg is nice, but I wish it did one thing...ErikGreat look, and of course, fantastic Ikea design! The storage is set up nicely, but this would be even better if the table folded up instead of down to act as a cover for the items stored inside.4
Surprise! EsteeIt's not actually a drop leaf, which is what I expected from the title. 3
PERFECTIONSamanthaWe've recently moved to a tiny house. I needed extra prep space, a table, a desk and storage. This is it. The compact structure and function of the table top is efficient and aesthetically pleasing. A definite WIN!5
Nice IdeaAnneTo be clear, it is exactly as advertised. I didn't have a good sense of the size and it is really too small to be useful for an adult space. It barely fits one person eating and no way space for two. It's also very heavy, so if you can't find the studs, you need to improvise (I have to put legs on mine). I'm also struggling to mount it by myself. It's definitely a 2-person job (or 3), but there is only one of me and there's nothing I can do about that. I've tried.3
Works perfectly in my guest roomTerryNeeded a desk to be used occasionally but didn’t want it to take up space in my guest room. I didn’t need anything with a lot of storage so this works perfectly for what it is being used for5
Installation planning was a headache like everyone said, but found a resolution!AshleyThe screw holes weren’t typical 16in apart so we screwed the vertical bar that holds the most weight (desk/table part) into the stud. Then used heavy duty drywall screws with built in anchors for the main shelf.
Then chose to use four 1in screws for underneath the desk/table
Hope this helps those stuck in the same spot we were, with trying to figure out the stud dilemma.
Highly recommend anchors 50lbs+5
One of the few things from Ikea Not well designedSeanThe item is fine.. just fine.. but has so much potential!
First off the wall anchoring ability is limited because of poor spacing between the grommets. Should be standard 16" centers to hit 2 studs but not. I had to add a small angle to feel safe.. Not very elegant.
Secondly, the table top section should be able to pivot both up and down.. Would be nice to be able to close the upper section and Not have to see the interior. Again, if the mounting was better this would be possible.
Overall, I am NOT happy with this unit but really don't feel like returning it and having to patch the walls.
Not even possible to add z clips.
Just wrong all around.2
Easy to install and such a space saver!MarianaWe love it! It saves so much space! I bought it for my toddler's arts and crafts. He seems to like it better than his little table. I installed it by myself without any issues. I used wall anchors and screws I already had. Such a great buy! 5
Vanity but could be used for a desk or kitchenDebbieBought this to use as s vanity, wonderful product. Space saving and solid. Was easy to put together. Wish it would have gave me wood screws that was needed. Also anchors you're going to need a well. But not a big deal.5
Perfect for when you have limited spaceRussProvides a nice mini desk in our small apartment5
Very poorly designedPaulThis desk works in the opposite way you'd expect. The drop leaf design just swings loosely and has an unkempt look to it when the desk is not in use.
There is NO mounting hardware in the box, and when mounting you only have about 1/4" plus/minus to get the height correct.
Note that you only get 1 chance to get the height correct because you need to adjust the height prior to mounting the bracket that holds up the desk, which makes it nearly impossible to get the correct height. Which you must do prior to installing the 6 remaining mounting points (4 on the bottom bracket and 2 more on the desk support.
I normally love Ikea furniture, this one was a miss. It should be discontinued and redesigned1
Used as desks for boys in shared roomLadanWe absolutely love these. Our neighbor put them up for us, so I can’t speak for the difficulty, but he didn’t complain about them and it didn’t take too long. But my elementary boys use them in their shared room. They opened up a ton of space for us when their friends come over!5
Floating half foldable desk/tableKarinaTo be honest, I was expecting it to be very messy but it actually blends with the white wall and looks very modern if you personalize it to you own taste. I think it’s my favorite thing and I hope I can get a lot of studying done. Currently look and feels great very Sturdy. Exactly what I was look for and more.5
missing core piece...SusanI was so excited to get this together and the too wood was not in the box1
