Teen Gamer ApprovedRhiannonTeenager wanting a new gaming chair for small space…after trying them all out on demo floor, this won! Comfort upright & reclined, perfect size for teen & room space, and mom liked the design. Worth the extra cost & easy to assemble!5
Why no delivery?RobertChair is fine, overpriced, but fine. I find it ridiculous that Ikea can't ship a chair to my house so I had to drive 260 miles to pick it up. It was what my son wanted for Christmas, othwiae no way I'm driving 260 miles for this thing.4
Great for tall peopleStephanieHigh back is perfect for tall people, very comfortable!5
Disappointing DowngradeMichaelI loved the Markus chair that I bought in 2018/2019. As a WFH employee and avid gamer, I used it daily and even bought 3rd party wheel upgrades. The "update" to the Markus chair is terribly disappointing. The seat is hard as can be, even when adjusting to the least firm setting. The lumbar support is so aggressive that it could cure scoliosis. The chair is more narrow, I'm only a 36 waist and it was very uncomfortable. And it sits much higher up, even on the lowest setting. And to top it all off, they've downgraded from leather (pleather?) to a tough fabric material. My new markus is sitting in the car, waiting to be returned. I've drug the old Markus back from the curb for one last hurrah. Do not recommend this chair in its current state.2
3 out of 5 starsVenThe chair is comfortable and works well for what I need. I’ve had it for about two years and it’s been fine up until recently. Now the seat randomly starts going down while I’m using it. I usually keep it at the highest setting, but it slowly drops to the lowest after a while. I went to IKEA to see if there was anything they could do, but they told me I should just buy a new one. It’s frustrating because the chair still looks good and feels fine otherwise, but the height adjustment issue makes it hard to use long term. Overall, it’s a decent chair for the price, but don’t expect it to last more than a couple of years without issues.3
Arm rests need to be replacedAndrewI've had this chair for a few years and the only issue I have with it is that the arm rest rubber starts to rub off after prolonged usage. I would gladly pay to replace just the arm rests if that was possible. Sadly, it does not appear to be an option.2
Bad dealAleksandarОчень плохое кресло, Юрцу точно не подойдет1
Peeling arm restElleI was really excited about this chair. I read reviews, watched a video to put it together on my own, and settled because of the comfort even though it wasn’t the ideal aesthetic. Unfortunately after less than 2 weeks the arm rest is actually peeling off into pieces. I’ve never seen this happen before, and seems like a major defect for a $300 chair. Unfortunately I can’t locate my receipt. I’m hoping there is some sort of fix for this.2
Material of headrest could be thickerChrisThe chair was easy to assemble and I like the feature that you need to be seated in the chair in order to roll / move it. This would be ideal for a household with small children so that the chair would remain stationary and not roll over small feet. My only grumble is that the chair's headrest feels and looks very inexpensive. The fabric is wrinkled on the top edge instead of laying flat. Not a deal breaker for the price. Love all the levers to make adjustments to the chair's height and angle/pitch.4
Comfy chair for long periods of sittingSarahI sit at my computer for between 8-10 hours daily. I can definitely tell a difference in comfort level vs the chair I have at my work office. My lower back does not usually hurt after sitting in the Markus. Very much worth the investment.5

MarkusCarrieEasy to assemble, looks beautiful, and is so comfortable.5
Less than a year, more than 180 daysJusttryingtoleaveareviewI have a pretty long torso and have struggled to find a decent office chair that supports my back effectively. The Markus was good for a little over 6 months before the padding in the seat really started to sink (I work from home and sit in this chair at least 8 hours a day) even though I weigh under 160 pounds. So now, because the padding has worn thin, the back support really causes me a lot of pain. The seat isn't particularly adjustable aside from height and tilt, the lumbar support isn't adjustable, so I have to get an entirely new chair after less than a year even though this one is guaranteed for 10 years, whatever that means. It is cheap to touch but I didn't really care at the time, but now it's just one more thing that I cannot stand about this product.2
TERRIBLE UPDATE TO A CHAIR THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY AWESOME. RobTHE PADDING IN THE SEAT IS ONLY ONE STEP ABOVE SITTING ON A ROCK. I HAD BOUGHT 6 OF THE BLACK LEATHER VERSIONS OVER THE YEARS AND THE PADDING WAS BETTER ALTHOUGH THEY WENT FLAT AFTER 2 TO 3 YEARS AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. NOW YOU HAVE DONE AWAY WITH LEATHER (PLEATHER) AND ONLY OFFER THE CLOTH VERSION AND THE SEAT PAD IS TERRIBLY THIN AND IS ALMOST NON-EXISTENT AFTER A MONTH. I ONLY WEIGH 210 LBS. THE LUMBAR SUPPORT IS TOO STRONG AND NOT IN A GREAT SPOT AND HURTS MY BACK. THIS WAS NEVER A PROBLEM WITH THE PREVIOUS VERSION. THE PRICE WAS ALWAYS HIGH BEFORE AT AROUND $250 TO $300 FOR THE LEATHER BUT NOW THE QUALITY HAS GONE DOWN AND THE PRICE HAS GONE UP. THIS COMBINATION IS THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF VALUE. THE BASE IS ALSO NOT AS STABLE AS THE OLDER VERSIONS AND HAS MINUTE WOBBLE ALREADY THAT TOOK THE PREVIOUS VERSIONS I BOUGHT ABOUT 3 YEARS TO NOTICE ANY MOVEMENT FROM SIDE TO SIDE ON THE BASE. I DEFINITELY CANNOT RECOMMEND THE CURRENT MARKUS CHAIR.2
Great chairMarkI bought this chair as a replacement for for a chair that I bought at IKEA 15 years ago. It's been a great chair, and helpfully this one will be as well. Easy to assemble, took about 20 minutes once everything was un packed. 5
Perfect chair...well, almostRashadI love this chair! The high back with the cushion is very supportive. The chair is remarkably study and well made. The controls and ergonomics are superb. However, there are some things I'd like to see done differently. The arm rests are made of a tire rubber-like material which is not bad, but I wish the arms were designed with an open loop of metal instead of the closed loop such that edges of the loop don't press into the side of your leg. As others have mentioned, the seat cushion doesn't pad enough for longer sitting. Forces you to take a rest from sitting, which may not be a bad thing. Really, it's only uncomfortable if your chair is too low, in other words, it forces you to sit with good posture. To reduce the pressure on your butt, raise the chair so that your weight is distributed across your thighs. The price is in my opinion too high. Otherwise, it's great! Although it has a high price, I am willing to pay for a high-quality comfortable office recliner that looks nice!4
started back problemsMehmetIt is very uncomfortable. In the beginning, I wa using it less, when I started to use it more , I understand it is not supportive2
GREAT Chair, comfortable, stylishJamesWhat an excellent purchase! Very happy with this chair. Super easy to put together, very sturdy & downright comfortable. Seat & back are supportive & while there are no back adjustments, the back is comfortable as it is. Love the look of it, too. Very high quality, well made, rollers are super smooth and SHARP! Highly recommended, high value for money!5
Amazing chair, sad the price got so highTinaI bought this chair almost 8 years ago. It's the best chair ever!!! I did lose a screw in one arm rest but easily replaced. Otherwise it's still in great condition after use of 8 years 40 hours a week, over 16,000 hours of use. My job recently required RTO and after one day in their chairs I decided I needed to buy this one again for my RTO desk... Sadly I bought it for $99 and now it's $289 which is so very sad, triple the price is rough. Not sure I can survive without it but not sure I can put that kind of money to RTO :( 4
Comfortable and QualityCorinneThis chair is very comfortable. It helps support my back and is pretty light weight. I would recommend this purchase to anyone who needs back support. 5

Material

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
