Reviews

Unfortunately did not last a yearNatalieI absolutely loved the look of this as a vanity and unfortunately less than one year later, the drawer is completely warped (I don't even have much makeup in there). Although it looks great it loses functionality. This was overall really expensive (after delivery, shipping, and taxes) for only a year of use. You are better off getting a real IKEA desk to store makeup. I tried to get a refund or at least partial (or a replacement drawer) and it did not work. 2
Elevate Space With a Sleek DesignAprilThis product is sleekly designed and can elevate any room or keep it simple for the minimalist. I love that it does not take up much room but gives lots of space for your things. Very versatile as an office desk or dresser. Only thing is it seems as though the top was easily Dented because of hollow wood design. So you have to be a little extra careful of what you put on it if you use it as a desk.4
Daughters new vanity AltheaVery nice for my 12 year old she needed a bigger draw for her things it worked wonders for what we needed it for love it so much 5

Poor quality, desk drawer broke within 5 months CarringtonI purchased this desk July 2023 and have been using it has a makeup vanity. The drawers are very flimsy. I noticed items were falling from my desk after it was closed. I came to realize the drawer was on the verge of collapsing. There are no heavy items in the drawer. Over time this desk has become useless. I’m very disappointed as I loved the look at the desk but it not durable. I do not recommend using this desk for a daily use as it cannot withstand it. Now I need to find a new desk and it’s been less than a year. 1
Great product but cannot get replacement glass top...LuisMy daughter loves the table. She made it into a vanity. Unfortunately, she broke the glass top and it seems like it is not sold as a spare part via Ikea. Can someone help?4
DisappointedRebeccaVanity is nice and I love the way it looks with my mirror & lights. As other review’s mentioned, the drawer only opens halfway, so the back of the drawer is useless. Don’t recommend!!3
Love it!Erika R.Cute use as vanity and desk5
glass topChauthe glass keep the top clean... but I didn't realize the back did not have a cover... big open drawer5
DeskTiffanyAbsolutely love my desk so pretty and I love that it comes with the mirror5
Great Vanity BUT........JackieAs the title says the vanity is lovely, the glass top is so beautiful and it's not too high. BUT the draw is a big issue for me as it doesn't open fully, which loses about an entire hand worth of space which is problematic for a vanity as you don't want dead space. Ive been seeing a lot of reviews with this same issue. The photo Ikea uses has the draw fully extended so Im not sure why mine cannot fully open, not sure if this is defective or just a massive production issue. I wish Ikea would offer a solution for this. Anyway TLDR: I needed up finding a video on how to make the draw extend fully, however now the draw is wobbly so yeah........ - I if realized it would be such a pain to ensure the draw open fully I would of never purchased and instead found a better alternative .3
WonderfulRachel R.Easy assembly met my expectations. In addition to very beautiful practice, it was perfect in the room5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
