Sturdy & supportive (except casters)LauraThis chair is solid and pretty easy to assemble (see info about the seat). The legs, stem, saddle, and share are strong. The pad is comfortable. However it is not clear when to attach the chair shell to the saddle. On the 1st chair, I put all the other pieces together, then found I had to remove the stem & saddle in order to screw the plate onto the shell. There are no instructions about when to attach the shell. For the 2nd chair, I attached the saddle to the shell & set it aside, then assembled the legs & the stem, then set the saddle onto the stem. The casters are cheap plastic and don't roll. They don't roll on low-profile carpet and they don't roll on wood. I checked; they don't lock so I don't understand the issue. FYI, the wheel stems are non-standard 10mm in diameter.

Exceptionally comfortableMichaelI got one as a cheap solution while I was on assignment out of town for a few months, staying at a relative's place, and it turned out to be the most comfortable desk chair I had ever experienced (at least for my body's contour). It nicely rounds support around my behind (back and sides) and has soft support at the right area on my spine.
I left that first chair at my relative's place for future use, and, on my return home, I bought one more to keep in my house.
I recommend it highly, but human bodies are different, so please test it first for suitability at an IKEA store, before buying one.

Mostly ok but quality issues apparentAliciaI love the look of this chair and it's comfortable for sitting all day doing home office work. I bought my first in June 2022 and I love the look and stability. It felt high-quality and lasted for over 2 years of daily use.
However, I had to buy a second in early November due to the old one squeaking so badly I used WD40 to stop the squeak, but then the weld on the base just fully detached and broke that same day.
The new chair from the beginning has this concerning rattle/wobble. Every time I make a slight movement, it feels like the tube/base has a little bit of wobble room and you can feel it tapping against itself. It feels weirdly unstable. Unsure if I got a bad chair or what, but I can't really recommend this product anymore if the quality/build has changed in two years. Too bad - I needed a cat-proof office chair that supported my back.
