Easier to install than I thoughtJohnI bought two of the black-brown ones and had them installed in drywall in less than 10 minutes. I don't understand the negative reviews. I did find it easier to measure the distance between the two screws using cm instead of inches. I don't know, 22.5 cm just seemed easier to measure than 8 7/8 inches. I'm not going to put much weight on them, however, since it's on drywall and not wood. But for my purposes the shelves definitely work, and they look pretty good, too.
Difficult to install correctlyJonathanThe shelves don't come with the hardware anymore.
I spent so much time figuring out what diameter screw would fit for the shelf.
I then tried toggle bolts but struggled keeping them in place as I try to lock in the back of the shelf.
Finally, I tried washers with the toggle bulbs and spent a lot of time with the screw falling back into the wall and pulling it out to try again.
I used to be a master at assembling Ikea products and hanging various shelves. I bought them there. But the exclusion of the needed hardware to assemble or hang as exponentially made the process harder and frustrating.
I searched so long to try to find information about how to hang these style of floating shelves but wasn't able to find any definitive information.
I miss the Ikea hardware and the clear instructions.
I started with plastic through anchor but it pulled from the wall and the shelf started to sag.
Do not buyZairaWorst shelves ever, very stressful installation and I have like 6 big holes in my wall because the measurements are so weird. You’d think because they’re so small they would be easy peasy but I hate these shelves. Hope I can return.

Very frustratingWilliamEasily the worst shelves I’ve ever installed. Measurements leave no room for error when mounting. They’ll maybe hold two lbs if you don’t find a stud, even with heavy duty anchors. They sag worse than any floating shelf I have ever installed. Look elsewhere if you’re interested in floating shelves.

Impossible to installAnonymous reviewerThese shelves come without screws, but whichever screws you are using there isn't enough room in the back to hold a shelf that is 10 inches deep. The screws are supposed to stick out just a few millimeters and the shelf is supposed to hang on those. Ridiculous. I ended up using brackets to hold the shelf up.
Not sturdy, pulls out from wallAlisonFirst, I didn't realize this doesn't come with screws. I do see now that it says that in the instructions and details in the description.
I used the correct dry wall anchors and screws for this. I installed the first one and it's wobbly and slightly angled forward away from the wall. It's for my kid's Lego sets so nothing too heavy, but I'm still concerned about things sliding off the front. The second one I'm installing just won't stay without pulling the wall anchors out of the wall, and that's with nothing on it. When my son puts Legos on it, it leans forward and pulls off the wall. Then it sits at too much of an angle to safely place things on.
Maybe my screws need a bigger head to support the shelf? The instructions should include what size head of screw it needs. Or supply the most common screws and wall anchors (most likely drywall anchors).
By the time I am getting around to hanging these up, I'm outside of the return window.
Very hard to mountEmilyThis is almost impossible to mount. Even if you get the right screws in the exact right spot in the wall you still have to worry about how far from the wall the screws hang out. If you put the screws too far out the shelf hangs down. If you put the screws to far in the shelf won't hang at all. I ruined my drywall anchors trying to get it just right with no success.
Horrible to InstallShannonThese shelves are ridiculous to install. Impossible to get even or secure without sagging. I would not recommend these unless you want to end up with huge holes in the wall along with weak, saggy shelves.
Floating Shelves Look GreatKarenI wish they came in more colors like they did years ago.
Fairly easy to installJohnI really like these little shelves. I have several around the house. However, the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is nearly impossible to install these small shelves so that they line up with the longer LACK shelves. I wish they used the same bracket system as the long shelves. Otherwise, if you're not concerned about using these small shelves as an extension of the longer ones, they do just fine. And for those who wish IKEA included the wall screws, there is no way IKEA can accommodate every kind of wall. Do a little bit of due diligence on your part to figure out what kind of screws you need for your wall material (brick? drywall? plaster? wood?) and it'll be a piece of cake to put up these LACK shelves.
