The three legs make them stable even on an uneven surface. They look great and after a year or two, even the ones that my kids set drinks on and get wet still look great, maybe some light staying in top and some raised grain.5

They are seriously one of my favorite IKEA items, and I have a LOT of things from IKEA. They are super easy to assemble, lightweight, stackable, and very strong. I use them as a step stool all the time. I’m actually considering ordering some for my elementary Art classroom to replace some of my standard chairs.5

NO support when only have THREE legs vs FOUR! Had to donate all of them for 'safety' sake (didn't want to deal with a cat with a broken leg just from jumping on a stool!)1

      KYRRE makes a great little table as well as spare seating. Multipurpose furniture is so fabulous for tight spaces. Makes a great laptop or tablet table as well as a good place for my coffee cup!

      In earlier days, the 3-legged stool was an essential tool used by farmers when milking their cattle as it would not wobble on uneven ground and provided stability to the milker. In 2004, IKEA’s founder Ingvar Kamprad designed a 3-legged stool, inspired by his first job, milking cows on the family farm. In 2019, we introduced an updated version of the traditional “milking stool". KYRRE stool with a light and modern expression, comes in handy – not for milking, but for guests.
