Back spine isn’t straightAnonymous reviewerFor the price, I imagined straight edges. But the one out of the box, and the one I got exchanged,—the spine that holds the rods together at the back was not attached perpendicularly, but was slanted. Aesthetically, such imperfection is simply ridiculous—and the fact that all of their inventory has the same problem.1
the cart serves the purposeDorisPutting it together was no problem for me alone. But i wasn't pleased after i got it in the kitchen - it just looked so plain and sterile. it is kinda lightweight. So i was going to put it in the basement or the garage to hide it. But once i put the things on it that i wanted to, it started to fit in. Doesn't hold as much as i'd thought, though. I decided to make the top of the cart home for a huge cutting board, so now i have additional counterspace and a couple of storage shelves that goes wherever i want it too. It'll work.3
Great cart - very versatile.DougPurchased this over 3 years ago and use it almost daily. Carries way more weight than it looks and cleans up easily. I have used it so much I need to replace the wheels as the rubber has worn down! I can't find the specs for the replacements though....my fav cart may get parked soon.5

Beautiful cartSuzanneThis is an exceptional piece in my kitchen. It is handy, and beautiful. I purchased a wooden top from another source and fit it over the top, the results are quite nice. Not sure why IKEA doesn't sell a wood top for it, they should. By IKEA standards this is an expensive item, but if you need it, you need it.5

Tiny tiny screws make it difficult to buildCateMy task rabbit worker really struggled to build this product. He has built several items for me so I know he is fast and good, but this item had him really frustrated. The screws in the legs are so small,they are impossible to work with.1
Very pleasedShelleyThe cart is used next to the stove as additional storage for our kitchen. It added storage for larger soup pots (second shelf) and additional large skillets ( bottom shelf). Top shelf is used for spices. The stainless clips which are magnetic are used for hot pads and the hooks hold the lids on the inside of the rails. The cart slides in between the wall and stove. The dimensions are perfect, the quality is very good, it rolls out easily for access and it is functional with great design. Highly recommend.5
Kungsfors cartDavidMy kitchen is a good size for a condo of 1200 sq. feet, but it's not huge. I bought the Kungsfors stainless steel kitchen cart, because I liked it's looks and versatility and needed more space. Now I can't imagine my kitchen without it. I can move it around, and it always gives me extra storage space and counter space where I need it. It is perfect. Also easy to put together. I bought a wood chopping block to put on the top, and it looks great.5

Beautiful kitchen cart!JoanWent to Ikea thinking I wanted a wood cart. Then I saw this one. It's easy to assemble, versatile and gorgeous. You can add "S" hooks to hang kitchen utensils. I purchased a cookbook holder which attaches to the bars. It's a small shelf that you could use for anything. The Kungsfors line is great!5

Story

Smart storage provides flow in the kitchen

You've also probably experienced this: coming home tired after a long day, knowing that both you and the rest of the family need food as soon as possible. But there are tricks that help make cooking easier. With our wall-mounted kitchen storage series KUNGSFORS, utensils, spices and recipes have their given places on the wall instead of being spread out on the kitchen worktop. With a bit of pioneering we managed to make the wall brackets nicely hidden, too.

When starting to work with KUNGSFORS, we turned to chef and cookbook writer Maximilian Lundin for inspiration. "There are a lot of practical things to be learned from a restaurant kitchen,” says Maximilian. “Like having utensils and ingredients easily accessible so that you have a good flow when cooking, and have plenty of space on the kitchen worktop."

Furnish the kitchen wall

With the help of Maximilian, our product development team created shelves, grids and rails that you either mount directly to the wall or on special suspension rails where you easily complete and move things around without having to drill new holes in the wall. The rails have room for hooks meant for all the utensils, and also room for the special shelf where you can place a tablet with the dinner recipe at eye's level.

Simplifies cooking

The series is made up of many different products and the project required both time and patience from all involved. The team engineer David Zeberg looks back on the work. "One of the challenges was to make the wall brackets of the rails hidden. But I love projects where we do something pioneering and have to test boundaries before finding the solution." For the chef Maximillian, who is passionate about good food, it was a whole new experience to be involved in influencing people's kitchens ─ the environment where food is cooked. "The positive thing was that everyone in the team was so ambitious about ensuring that KUNGSFORS would help to simplify cooking", says Maximillian.

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing items – without losing its valuable properties.

Function solution

More space and better flow in the kitchen

When spoons, spices, and recipes have their given and visible place on the wall, you get more space and better flow when you cook. With the KUNGSFORS series, it's easy to create a personal combination and store everything so that items are easily accessible and you get a good overview in the kitchen, just like professional cooks. Place the pans on open shelves, the knives on magnetic racks, and utensils on hooks. Then you have everything close at hand and lots of space to work!

Designer thoughts

The most important thing when I designed the KUNGSFORS series was for it to spread the joy of cooking. The series helps you to have kitchen utensils, spices and ingredients visible, which I think makes the kitchen look nice ‒ while it encourages the appetite and desire to cook. I also wanted it to help make it simpler to keep things in order and make cooking easier. The parts can be combined in any way, so they fit both large and small kitchens ‒ and people's different needs.
