Flimsy, very poor quality railsAnonymous reviewerThese new PAX drawers are shockingly bad. The rails do not fully extend, (presumably for "safety reasons" and also do not allow you fix that either). On top of that, many of the drawers I ordered turned up chipped. The new hardware is also basically a bunch of plastic that does not feel sturdy. The drawers constantly move.1

Love IKEA, Love PAX, but everything went wrongYaniaI love my PAX closet system, I wanted to add one more drawer, and everything went wrong during the building of this drawer. I have built a lot of ikea furniture and this drawer was a disaster. The dowels didn’t go in, it didn’t line up with the sliding mechanism, the particle board split in more than one piece. After a lot of frustration It still functions as of right now, so it wasn’t worth it to return. But all in all it still works minus the difficulties and breaking the particle board, so all in all it’s alright. 1
Easy assembly DavidThe parts are easy to assemble. I had 13 drawers to assemble, every one of them had wood chips under the laminated cover layer from the holes being drilled for the plastic locking clips on the bottom front. If these wood chips are not taken out, the side panels will not seat properly. 4
So easy to assemble DonaldThey are so easy to assemble than they used to be, after assembling 28 of these . And the quality is incredible only had an issue with one component was very happy with the product. 5
Assembly is awfulMegIn the process of putting together 12 of these-- already 2/4 has cracks and defects... I've put together a lot of IKEA furniture- and these aren't HARD persay-- but these aren't well made. Sucks when you're paying 2k on a system and it's janky.2
Wish shorter drawers are an option Thuy-VanWish there was a shorter drawers height option for socks , scarves, ties and undergarments. The pull out shelves are too shallow to fit anything other than jewelry.3

Stains appearing after just a few monthsGuilhermeI purchased a complete pax system for our closet in October 2024, on March 2025 we noticed some stains on the drawers and pull out shelf where clothing was stored - dry clothing. These stains won’t come off. These are pieces of clothing we’ve own for a long time and have washed several times, none of them bleed even in the wash.3

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.

"What was difficult but also fun about designing KOMPLEMENT series was the challenge of finding a common look and style for many different functions. We wanted the design to work for elegant glass drawers as well as trouser hangers and shoe shelves. Everything should look beautiful together, no matter which interior organizers you choose. The idea behind KOMPLEMENT is to make it easier for you to find your favorite clothes and accessories. That’s why the interior organizers have a neutral style, with soft friendly shapes that show what’s inside."
