Durable metal springs in the seat give the sofa a springy comfort, allowing you to sit, relax and enjoy it for many years.
The fixed Bomstad cover is made of a durable material that is both smooth and strong. The material consists of polyester and cotton and has a protective coating of polyurethane.
The cover is easy to keep clean as it can be wiped with a damp sponge or a mild detergent.

Sofa smells horrible AngelThe sofa came during delivery, after assembling the sofa, there’s was a strong odor. After a month the smell is the same no change I clean it, spray fabric softener, and let the odor escape still nothing.
I love itJenniferI am a musician and this loveseat matches the aesthetic of my electronic musical and gaming equipment, its beautiful, its easy to keep clean. I actually assembled the whole thing all by myself but when I had to do the final assembly of all the pieces together I was somehow on the floor with the back of the couch resting on my back and by some miracle I got it together. Probably not the recommended technique. It was delivered and left outside my house, so i also had to get this giant box inside and i could not do that on my own and had to get a neighbor. I dressed it up with one of those gorgeous IKEA 26" pillows which smells divinely of goose feathers, a gold velvet cover for it, another pillow and a throw. This loveseat is so iconic and I love the aesthetic, it reminds me so much of the 80s and 90s.

Pleather love seatDonnaThe love seat is not too comfortable and feels somewhat hard and is a bit low to the ground. The pleather type material is somewhat soft but wrinkles up when sitting too long but can be smoothed out easily. It’s basically a piece that I purchased to take up space in a large open kitchen living room area because it would not absorb food smells when cooking like it would of if it was made of a cloth type material. I like the fact that it can be wiped down with a damp cloth.

Very tricky assembly DouglasSo far I’ve just assembled the couch and it took forever. The instructions are not accurate and I had to problem solve to make it work. I would like ikea to update the assembly instructions to help others.
20 yearsLynnWe have had our Klippan for 20 years now, still standing strong, but we are ready for a bigger sofa. It is still so hard to let it go, we just don't have space for it. Apart from a gash on the seat, it is proven and tested to last. We bought it for a much higher price 20 years ago, but worth it.

It's a place to sit I guessEllieIt does what it's supposed to do... but zero comfort, the backrest is too low and it feels kind of like you're sitting on a cardboard box. I wouldn't even say it's a great shake for the price... go to a yard sale! Cover ripped when we put it together, sat on it for 2 years and the springs were starting to go. I don't miss it at all. It's a place to sit I guess.

Body heat literally melts the leatherAndrewSitting or laying on the couch for extended periods of time literally melts the leather. Somehow my body heat, coupled with the ambient temperature, melts the "leather". A pillow I lay on is permanently stained black. I lost two white t-shirts as they're now permanently stained black. I will never buy faux leather for as long as I live. This is a waste of money.

What is coated fabric?
If you want a leather feel and an easy-care surface, coated fabric is a durable alternative – often at a lower price. We use fabric made of recycled polyester and have begun a transition from fossil-based to renewable material in the coating. Dimethylformamide (DMF) is a solvent that’s common in production, but since 2016 we’re instead using a water-based solvent.
