These lamps can be both general lights and reading lights and can be switched on and off separately.
The uplighter spreads a pleasant light that illuminates the entire room.
You can easily direct the light of the reading lamp where you want it since both the arm and the head are adjustable.
You never have to change a light bulb as this lamp has LED light sources built right into it.

Junk--light quits workingKatieAs others have experienced, the reading light stopped working. I went to look online for a replacement bulb only to discover that it's not replaceable. What the heck, Ikea? Two issues: 1) shouldn't burn out so fast (I literally never use the reading light) and 2) this is an environmental embarrassment to make this a single use item. Gross.
Great stylish floor lampAmeliaThis floor lamp is so stylish that it’s actually the second one I purchased . Great finishes and also priced well. It gives great amount of light as it’s dimmable. The lower light can be angled which is totally a plus

Poorly madeSusanSame problem as many others. Used infrequently but top light switch stopped working; light remains dimly lit only; need to pull plug to turn off. For an expensive lamp I’m very disappointed.
Bought two, both failedDavidBeautiful and brilliant idea. I bought one for my place in the US, one for my place in Europe. The reading light went out on the one in the US just before I left for Europe. The day after I got to Europe, the reading light went out on the one here. I went to buy bulbs, only to learn that they were not replaceable. IKEA should not reply to these reviews by saying "you are welcome to return it within 180 days, I hope this helps." It does not help! It is insulting. Improve the design!
Poor QualityYeThis floor lamp has been used one year and 3 months and the lower bulb stopped working, I have to say I haven't used it a lot per day , should be around one or 2 hours at most. I wanted to exchange it with a new one or hoping IKEA be able to resolve this problem but I can't find a related ways. I have to say don't buy it which is poor quality and expansive.
Nice lamp. Terrible parts. Not IKEA quality we’re used to. StephenJust bought a second one to replace one where the switch stopped working after 6 months. Set it all up and the dimmer doesn’t work. Nice lamp and a great look but the parts are not ikea typical level of quality. Now have to find the time to make a trip back and stand in line for hours to replace this defective lamp.
Top light not working anymore and there is no replacement bulbSinemIt seems like it’s either the top light or the reading like that stops working after sometime of use. And this is considered normal for an environmentally friendly company like IKEA. If I knew that I would’ve never purchased this light in 2022.
Solid versatile lamp with a special applicationKathyLove the build quality and the two lights, each independently controlled. I use the reading light to illuminate my ostomy site (which is the same level as the reading light, but it can also be adjusted). This improved lighting facilitates the accurate placement of my ostomy replacement and I highly recommend this lamp to fellow ostomates.
Begging for a lightbulb version 💡LauraIKEA, please just make a version of this lamp with replaceable lighbulbs. Same metal frame, same convenient location for the knobs. Give it frosted glass or textile shades. I've looked at this lamp so many times and I just can't make myself buy it. If the reading lamp goes out the whole lamp would be pointless (and it sounds like this is fairly common Issue)

Very BrightCarlaThe top lamp can get bright enough for a living room. We are a family of non-overhead lighting so this dimmable lamp is great. The bottom one is not dimmable hence the 4 stars. It’s a little to bright for our taste, but it helps that you can adjust it to face away from you. Love the price.
