Minimal, classic designMeaganThis sofa has a minimal, classic design that can be dressed up or down. The Gransel natural slipcover is a nice neutral in terms of color and material. No idea why IKEA categorizes the sofa as "Extra soft." The bench seat is very firm. The back cushions are more like a medium feel. As with some other IKEA products, the instructions could be more explicit - even a few "A" and "B" stickers for pieces would help. It was still quick and easy to assemble with two people. (One person could do it with more effort.) Only small complaint is the selection of slipcover colors, which are a bit dour. If you're thinking of buying this sofa but don't care for the slipcover options, look at Etsy for sellers who make Hyltarp covers in a wide variety of colors and fabrics. They are more expensive than the slipcovers from IKEA but give the option to really customize the overall look of this great sofa.
Extremely UncomfortableLibbyI left a review for the cover by mistake. This sofa is beautiful and built well and easy to put together, but it is the most uncomfortable sofa that I have ever had. Even after adding a featherbed to it. It is beautiful in my family room, but no one will sit on it. The cushions are so hard it starts to hurt your back, so I had to pay the city to hall it to the dump. Who ever designed it must not have given comfort any thought what so ever.
