Reviews

My family loves thisReginaMy son comes home from college in the summer. The boys have a bunk bed in their room but my college kid opts to sleep on this. It’s comfortable to sleep on. It’s not too hard, not too soft, and has storage. It’s perfect.5
Not really worthKatrinaIt's convenient and a great concept however the mechanisms that are used to lift the ottoman aspect of the unit can be worked on it has already shown weakness in the frame I purchased it May 5th it's been in my home less than a month.2
Not comfortable at allAlisonHas good storage, I like the L-shape and it’s easy to pull the bed out but it is so, SO uncomfortable. I can’t tolerate to be on it very long, it’s HARD. Not worth the price at all.2

Excellent quality and met expectationsHivyExcellent quality and met expectations5
Comfortable - love itDeborahVery comfortable. It took about 1.5 hours to assemble, the directions were not as straightforward as they seemed, does not tell you to put the cover on as you assembled the couch.5
Love itDanielaI love it the only thing is that the wood it’s really hard I couldn’t even drill on it, the screws where broken every time I tried, that’s why I couldn’t put the wheels but otherwise it’s perfect comfortable and nice look5
We are so glad we got this couch!BiancaWe bought this couch for our beach house and we love it already. We bought the light blue and the color is spectacular! My husband did go online to watch someone assemble the couch and that was a huge help! The seat part is very deep, which is nice. It’s so great for storing linens and we all love that it’s an added place to sleep for the kids or guests! So very happy with our purchase!5
Buy it!RileyBest couch we’ve ever had. Very comfortable and easy to use. Great storage. A little on the smaller side which is perfect for our apartment. Hard to put together though, took us 4 hours5

Versatile, relatively comfortable, fabric is awfulVerified BuyerI bought this couch about a year ago. It’s held up very well, except the color is not really as described. The “light gray” is really basically white. It stains SO easily, and the stains are impossible to get out. First I tried to spot treat, which lead to huge water marks. Then I used a carpet cleaning machine on it. Same thing, water marks and basically just spread the stain out. I decided to disassemble and drag it to the laundromat. I pretreated with Shout and OxiClean. First cycle, no stains were removed. I ran it a second cycle, which helped, but there was still a few stains remaining. Third cycle, no difference. I’m pretty disappointed and guess I’ll eventually just have to fork over the $200 for a new color. The darker gray wasn’t available when I ordered it, and I needed a couch ASAP since I didn’t have one. I thought since I didn’t have kids or dogs that it would be easy to get simple stains out, but this fabric is NOT forgiving. Oh and you also have to hang dry it and then iron it. Pretty cool you can wash the covers unlike most couches, but it’s a bit of a pain. It’s pretty comfortable, I’ve fallen asleep on it many times. I like to pull the bed part out and just spread out and watch a movie. I don’t want the added expense of a mattress topper, so if I have a guest over they can have my bed and I’ll sleep on the couch lol. It’s also very light, easy to move around, assemble and dissemble. I plan on having this couch another 5ish years at least.3
Love how easy it is!!!LisaI absolutely love this couch I love that is so easy to pull out the bed function or use it with my kids to watch movies or snuggle with my husband. The first night we had it we were watching TV and I fell asleep when I woke up it was early morning and I asked my husband why he didn’t wake me to come to bed. He said he tried but I wouldn’t get up. Love , love, love this couch!!!5
UkanaI bought this 3 months ago.this is perfect for my family5
I love this sectional.MsSkyHy2We have had it for approx. 3 years. We wash it all the time. So hypoallergenic. I own the gray denim covers such a great investment. You can also change the color of the couch as often as you'd like. Great design. Everyone so visits loves the pull out option and/or the chaise storage and immediately want to know where they can get one.5
Misleading descriptionAntonellaI bought this item three weeks ago. In the description there is a clear statement saying that this sofa has a washable cover. Yeah probably it is washable but you have to dissemble the entire sofa to get the cover! The worst item ever!1
Great versatile couch!Verified BuyerI bought this couch 2 and a half years ago. Now to be clear, I am not a big person, weigh about 110-120 pounds so this couch worked out for me. It is not the most comfortable couch to sit on but at least a 7/10 in terms of being comfortable as a couch. It took about 3-4 hours to install with my 3 other family members but that was partially because we weren't following the instructions at first. It is absolutely wonderful and comfortable to sleep on. Every part of the couch has springs (even the pull-out part that becomes a bed), so it provides a lot of support. What I recommend (and what the IKEA staff at the actual store recommended when I bought this couch) is a 50-80 dollar mattress topper (2 or 3 inch memory foam topper full XL sized) that you put in the storage section of the couch and take it out when guests come over and place on top of the couch and then place bed sheets on top of that. It is absolutely comfortable and if you weight less than 180 pounds, you literally can't feel the transition/seams of the couch with the mattress topper when you sleep on top of it. This couch was so great by the way, that my bestfriend who lives on the other side of the US came by and stayed for a few days and absolutely loved sleeping on it and asked for it as a wedding gift - which, I gladly obliged! She also bought a mattress topper like I did and her parents from Korea stayed over at her place and slept on it and absolutely loved it as well! Also, after 2 years, I moved and gave my 2 year used couch to my little brother. 1. It was easy to disassemble, 2. easy to put back together, and 3. worked perfectly after disassembled and put back together. I am a little disappointed to see that the reviews here are terrible. I think going with the cloth type material is the best for this couch as it's easier to wash. Couple key things to know: 1. If you are expecting the most comfortable couch to sit on, you won't get it. It's comfy but not a 10/10 for being comfortable to sit on - more like a 7/10. Gets the job done. Buy a few extra pillows and it may be more like a 8-9/10 2. If you invest a little money in a mattress topper, your guests who sleep over would absolutely love it. 3. If you are heavier person, or your guests are super tall, maybe not the couch for you. 4. What this couch is, is very versatile. It's probably not meant to last 10 years but what couch at this price that is this versatile really is?5
Poor qualityVerified BuyerI bought thus sofa 2017. Very hard to assemble, and now looks 10 years old, the cover of sofa has very poor quality. I wish I can return it!1
Great storageAishaI loved the idea of a extra sleeping space for guest and having a super comfortable Family movie night but from the very beginning I've had issues. When we pulled out the pop up part of the couch it didn't catch on it completely separated over and over. Now the pop up part keeps dropping back in and won't stay up if someone sits on it.3
Definitely not what I would call “washable cover”Verified BuyerI bought this couch for our playroom because of the price and the fact that it said the cover was machine washable. What it didn’t clearly state is that you have to unfold the couch to take the cover off, which means tipping it over or climbing under it. Neither of them I want to do to wash a cover. Due to a few accidents with the kids I have had to remove the cover twice, now the screws are so striped that I couldn’t take it a part if I wanted to. I also agree with other reviews that the material shows every little water spot and mark and it doesn’t wash/wipe up nice. If you are looking to buy this because of it’s ‘machine washable’ I would pass.2
DO NOT BUY - ugly and cheap lookingVerified BuyerWhere to begin with this sleeper sofa? I've had it for nearly two years, and I would say about once a month I check this site to read the other reviewers who've had problems with it. Call it solidarity...or misery loving company. I'm constantly frustrated with this purchase and if I wasn't on a tight budget I would have dumped it long ago. Here's my tale of woe: *The back is WAY too low, so you constantly have to re-arrange the pillows and buy additional throw pillows to be even remotely comfortable. *The covers are washable....but that requires taking apart the entire couch, which is a HUGE pain (we all know how fun Ikea furniture assembly is) *Speaking of covers...The fabric is scratchy and really uncomfortable. Not to mention it picks up dirt REALLY easily...after just a few months our couch looked disgusting to the point I was embarrassed to have anyone over. Washing the covers (after tediously dissembling the couch) helped somewhat, but now that I'm almost two years in, washing does very little to help with the dirt. Offering a darker cover option (ACTUAL dark grey, or even navy), would help a lot with these issues (for instance, the color options with the FRIHETEN). I thought about dying the covers, but the fabric is polyester so the dye wouldn't hold. The only positive I'll give this product is it's functional - the storage space is great and the pull out to the bed is fairly comfortable. There are VERY few sleeper sectionals on the market, so it's slim picking to begin with, but still.... STAY AWAY, far, far away. I tried to return this after a few months and wasn't able to. I used to love Ikea, but this product has soured me to the point where I refuse to return. If Ikea would let me return it even for store credit, I'd willingly go back to being a loyal shopper. But until then, they've permanently lost my business.1
