Very Smart & Great Looking Space SaverLouieRecently moved into a new home but storage challenged and these were the perfect idea for our entryway and all our shoes. Not only does it match our decor but was pretty simple to assemble. The little drawer was perfect to store little things like your wallet, keys, face masks, etc., as you head out the door. Been using it for a month so far and it’s worked out quite nicely. 😁👍🏽5
Love This Shoe CabinetCynthiaSlim, very functional and looks great, too! I really like the gray option and I’m very pleased with the quality.5

Classic lines and real wood plus easy assemblyAmandaI have been eyeing this shoe storage for months. Finally made the purchase and glad I did. Assembly was easy, love that it is made from pine. Only issue I had was needing to add additional feet due to the height of my baseboards.4
Clever shoe solution...JacklynOrganize your shoe storage like a pro without using too much floor space.5

Perfect for the entranceDolfinlvr65Purchased this to clear up the shoes that collect at our entrance. No more clutter and the drawer is the perfect place to stash gloves and keys. Even my 3 yr old grandson puts his own shoes away.5

IKEA coffee bar hack!hdavie20We bought this and cut off the legs. It’s the perfect coffee/tea bar. Both the kettle a kuerig fit perfect on top. The pods fit perfect in the drawer and the cabinets hold syrups and tea canisters in the show slots.5

Plastic hinges break easilyVinodhPoor design by putting plastic hinges for the doors to sway open and close. They break after a year or so. Need to go hunting for this hinges. Not like Ikea sells the parts for me to just buy it and screw it in.2
Perfect for small entrywaysJess471I bought this shoe cabinet for the small entryway of my house and it's perfect! It's the same quality I have come to expect from Ikea furniture pieces, and was very easy to put together. My husband and I had it put together and mounted to the wall in less than an hour. This holds plenty of shoes and boots (some boots we have to store sideways, but no big deal), and looks great. The gray color is true to the product picture. **One thing to note: the clearance underneath is just less than 5.25. My baseboards are 5.5 high, so I bought nail-in furniture glides that were at least a quarter inch thick (and they worked perfectly). Be sure to measure your base boards, as this piece is to be flush-mounted against the wall.** Great price, great piece – no regrets whatsoever!5
Plastic hinges = they will breakCakwNice looking piece, clever way to stack a bunch of shoes in a small place. The downsides are: - The Hemnes materials and construction quality is poor (I bought 4 Hemnes pieces for living, bed, office and found this to be true across all pieces except for one bookcase, and were below standards of all the other ikea items I've assembled and owned). - The plastic hinge that allows the door to tilt open breaks easily. This may be a design issue as we often open the middle drawer with one hand so we may have stressed the plastic hinge. Calling to see if Ikea can replace these parts otherwise this cabinet is at end of life. - If you have a size ~9 or larger, and stack shoes as noted int he picture, the heel of shoes in the bottom drawer get stuck and prevent you from opening the drawer. Happens on occasion2
Great Hallway Organization!C2B FloridaWe bought this about a month ago, and finally had the time to properly install it this week. Assembly was pretty straightforward (We did have some head scratching, and re-assembly issues, but our fault!) and the whole thing was put together pretty quickly. The attachment to the wall we chose to place it required a couple of trips to the hardware store, before we got just the right anchors. Very happy with the results!4
Holds all of his shoes!p957We put this together Sunday night while we watched football! Easy to do, parts fit together well, all pieces were there.4

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is solid wood?

Solid wood is one of our favorite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the wood species, it is durable, beautiful, renewable and recyclable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood. This way, every tree is put to good use that little extra.
