Perfect for small spaceLizPerfect for small space5
Excellent!Marla M.This was probably the easiest Ikea assembly ever, and I was able to mount it all by myself! (Assemble on the cardboard so you can slide it into position and then tilt up to the wall, supporting it with your body while you mark the spots for drilling.) It's a nice looking piece of furniture, too.5
Great Quality Cabinet for Corner SpaceBreanna M.Overall this cabinet is super great quality and fits my small bathroom corner space perfectly. It is meant for that right area where you awkwardly can’t put anything else there. Lovely sturdy shelves and soft close doors. It was pretty easy (several hours) to put together my only warning is that the mounting hardware is not all included and you will have to have some drywall screws. It was kind of confusing and took me a sec to figure it out so I thought I would save you the trouble.5
Just Right!JackPerfect for the corner of a small dining area5
Beautiful workmanship, great productNatalie W.We needed more storage in our bathroom so we invested in this Hemnes corner cabinet. The slow close door hinges were very high quality as was the workmanship of the piece. After it was installed we admired how much it looked like custom cabinetry. It was not super easy to assemble, but once done it was well worth the effort. The cabinet needs to be secured to a wall, so some handyman skills are required. The instructions are clear, but it's solid wood and heavy so I recommend two people for the job. If you're not handy with tools, I recommend TaskRabbit to assist.5
Great for maximum utilization of limited spaceScott O.This Hemnes corner cabinet was one of the few items that remained in stock through the pandemic. I'm surprised it isn't more popular, because this cabinet is quite sturdy, well-constructed, it looks good, and of course it's very efficient. Put it where you want of course, but in my opinion, it is best suited to utilize limited space in a small bathroom, especially one that lacks overhead cabinets. Although this unit isn't exactly cavernous- its dimensions as a corner piece are constrained, after all- it still has more than enough shelf space for holding towels, washcloths, and your other necessities. Bear in mind that this unit only has two legs. It is NOT meant to be left freely leaning against the wall- doing so is a recipe for disaster. It MUST be directly attached to the wall. It comes with equipment for this, but I just drilled a single long screw through one of the back holes until I hit the corner joist. Being a Hemnes it does cost a bit more, but it's really a great unit!5
Very ImpressedJean S.This Hemnes corner cabinet and the matching over toilet tall cabinet represent the best RTA furniture I've ever purchased. The Fit, Finish, attention to detail, and ease of assembly are spot on. If this is typical of the brand, it's a standout in Ready-To-Assemble furniture. For those who leave bad reviews for poor directions, difficult assembly, or lacking rear legs, they're referencing their own inadequacies, not the product.5
StorageOliviaLooks like it belongs in the room I get asked about my “built in” all the time5
Surprisingly pleasedDONNAAlthough I did see the shelf unit on the showroom floor, I was unaware that it only had two legs and was intended to be attached to the wall. Since I didn’t want to connect to the wall, I created a back leg and it is working great! I love the sturdy construction and the perfect design.5
BeautifulJULIEThis is exactly what we needed. It's beautiful. The only issue is the installation to the wall. It was very difficult... Mark and measure. That part was a 2 person job.4
Perfect for a small cornerANNETTASurprising amount of storage.5
Its a little hard toDebbieIts a little hard to connect to the wall and have lined up perfectly but love it otherwise!5
KTFLgreat corner cabinet- assembly instruction could use some clearer information5
Beautiful CabinetBeebInstalled in our newly remodeled bathroom. Easy to assemble, good quality, beautiful piece of furniture. Highly recommend it for any corner application. Adds a ton of storage space.5
Perfect for the bathroom!JrewdEasy to assembly and great fit5
Perfect sizeAudrey142We bought this for our bathroom that does not have any storage. This fit perfectly in the small space we had. Though at first we really wanted a grey one to match the sink cabinet5
Looks great, annoying assemblyGaryGnuWe just purchased this cabinet to put in our hallway this week, and now that it’s installed we are very happy with the end result. However, the process to attach it to the wall was extremely frustrating, and this is required as there is no back leg. The screws to mount it to the wall are not included, nor is this stated or the fact you will also need wall anchors to ensure the product is stable and flush to the wall when finished. I’ve always enjoyed the process of assembling IKEA furniture, but this one had me shaking my head and muttering a few choice words.3
Wellcome Addition to our KitchenOttawa2Purchased this instead of an island, and saved a lot of floor space. Almost identical to our 30 year old kitchen cabinets that were just painted white. Love how it Looks and is very sturdy.5
Just what we hoped for.Grandma and GrandpaThis piece of furniture went together fairly easily and is very solid. We appreciate the care given to detail. It’s a very well made product.5
Perfect fit for what I neededATL404I have a very small apartment with no storage space. I searched everywhere for a smaller corner cabinet for a good price. They were all either too large or too expensive. Thankfully I found this one from Ikea! Its a bonus that it matches my dresser as well. It took a friend and I about 3 hours to put together and mount it. Mine did not include mounting screws so you may need to get those elsewhere.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is fiberboard?

Fiberboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fiberboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are – and this determines what we use them for. So regardless if it’s a bed, a wardrobe or your new bathroom cabinet, the leftover wooden fiber becomes a resource instead of going to waste.
