With wall-mounted EKET, you make the most of the wall area, while freeing up space on the floor.

Beware Assembly More Difficult Than It LooksDiana C.The assembly was NOT as easy as the video shows it to be. Some of my EKETS are cracked or chipped because of how many times we had to disassemble to reassemble. They look gorgeous hung up but it was a pain to assemble.3
Great addition for any roomSamanthaJust love these single cubes that you can arrange in any pattern and color college you desire. The blue went great with our new theme for our living room and perfect size for books, collectibles and plants !5
Absolutely best night standANANDAAbsolutely best night stand5
okayGabyeasy to build but I never got the rail to mount it on the wall, despite it saying that it comes include, it didn't. like what was the point of me paying like $5 extra for this wall mounting unit if it didn't come with the rail to mount it.3
Love it!!Julia M.From some of the reviews you can tell who did not read the instructions as this thing is super easy to put together but only if you follow the instructions. If you put it together in the wrong order it will not go in the way it supposed to. I am using mine as floating shelves and they look great on the wall5
I could not understand howNadaI could not understand how to pit it together, muss less how it attaches to the wall!1
Lightweight , durable and excellentShelkaLightweight , durable and excellent quality5
Love this!AmandaThis is a great display box! Used it with the glass door and without. Very easy to put together5
Versatile cubbiesRhejieWe installed 3 above my daughter's desk for books and mini stereo system, and another 3 on a wall to display items. They look great! There was some difficulty putting the fourth side attached as it is very snug and needed brute force/rubber mallet.4
Easy to install and look great.RICHEasy to install and look great.5
Difficult to put together and didnt Include screwsChandraLI bought this about a month ago and out of the huge order I placed this was easily the most difficult product to put together. The boxes require that you beat on them (leaving dents) with a hammer to make sure you can get all four corners in and even then it is challenging. On top of that after we *finally* got the boxes together we starting putting the wall mounts on and found that they didn’t include the screws you need to mount it to the wall. Like what’s the point then? I had to go to Home Depot to buy the screws where I could have just bought everything I needed for the wall mount and ignored buying this from ikea. Honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had putting together ikea furniture, usually it takes 15-20 minutes it’s easy and it looks great but not this time. I would never buy this again1
Love itKBMartinezBought it about a month ago and love how it looks in our son's room. More colors would be even better!!5
SakihuI love how this looks and mounts so easily!5
Assembly is quick and easyWooHoo00Just wanted to make a review addressing all the one star reviews. This box is super simple to build. If you can slide pieces together, you can build this box. It does require some common building sense. Rubber mallet is helpful but not necessary, as you can just use your weight to get the pieces to slide together. I've bought 12 of these, and only had one issue where one of the plastic connectors on a panel was not fully driven in, few wacks of the rubber mallet took care of it.5
Just what I envisionedRay001I bought three of these in different colors to use near a small desk. I love the way that they turned out. Fairly simple to put together. I hung on the wall and that too was simple. But WARNING - follow the directions exactly in order!! If you do not the box will not fit together and You cannot undo the mistake. I broke one box that way5
frustrating assemblyAbsolute FrustrationEach box has 5 pieces. Four of the pieces go together within seconds. It is the last side that is the issue. The sides come with 3 embedded plastic connectors that fit into a corresponding keyhole on the adjacent side. The side is then shoved into place with the connector leaving the keyhole and sliding down into a narrower opening. So the fifth piece has to have the 6 connectors lined up perfectly on each side so that the connectors can slide down into the narrower holes. Sounds easy but it is not! The problem is that the backerboard is shifting as well as the other 3 sides. I wound up using screws to set the fifth piece. I have put a lot of Ikea furniture together as well as my Ikea kitchen cabinets. NEVER have I run into a situation where I could not assemble based on the directions and with the Ikea hardware. Did Ikea run any focus groups to see how people fare when assembling these boxes? The boxes look great when assembled. I do think they need a redesign and the price point for this basic box should be $15, not $20.2
Difficult to buildBellaGI bought 3 units, 2 light gray and 1 dark gray. Each piece was so difficult to put together. After finishing both light gray ones (with my husband's help), the dark gray one was next. My husband struggled so much that one of the side's plastic screws (both) completely broke off...... now we are struggling to just finish it. Horrible building design!!!!!!1

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

New technologies, new hobbies, a new family member ... both small and large changes affect life and people's needs at home, especially when it comes to all the things that we need space for. Petra Kammari Enarsson is a product developer at IKEA and often visits the homes of customers to experience their everyday living and how good storage can make life at home a little easier. She remembers a family in Copenhagen which expanded every other weekend with the daughter from a previous relationship. ”She didn't have her own room, but the family had a solution where she had a loft bed in the living room and her private things were in a chest on the floor”. Petra thinks it's a good example of how more and more people are living in small spaces, and that a large part of everyday living takes places in the living room where we want things to be both practical and stylish.

Flexible furniture for new needs

Another obvious trend around the world is that many people move more often - just as Petra did when she was young. ”The problem is that a lot of storage furniture is so inflexible – upon moving or new needs arising, they can't be adapted. This means storage isn't optimal and it's difficult to keep track of all your things”. These insights inspired Petra and her colleagues to start looking at a more flexible and personal storage solution – something that can easily be updated so that people don't have to buy new furniture as soon as something in life changes. Petra then started to think about those fishing boxes she had when she was young and which were so easy to stack and move as needed. What if you could make a piece of furniture which consists of various smart modules that can be easily moved around, removed and added to?

Building with blocks

Petra and her team started by ordering cardboard boxes in various sizes. They took the boxes to different room environments where they moved them around like building blocks – stacking and combining them in various ways. The team also researched detailed facts about storage: on average, how many magazines do we have at home? What’s the ideal height for people to put down their mobile phones? ”Many of us put keys, telephones or bags in a specific place when we come home. We usually do it automatically, without thinking about it”, says Petra. The height that seems to suit most people is 31½", so a shelf at that height was a given in the mix of shelves, drawers and cabinets in different colors and styles that eventually became the EKET storage series. ”I'm so pleased that we chose to prioritize playfulness and freedom of choice with all the colors and sizes of EKET”, says Petra, who's looking forward to visiting more homes. ”I think that the customers will find lots of exciting combinations that we haven't even thought of!”.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
