Easy for a beginner!BarbaraI recently moved and had a fairly big storage problem to solve. I tried the EKET line. I read the online reviews and was somewhat hesitant to purchase. I went to You Tube and watch a number of videos and it clicked. There are a few tips that make these way easier to assemble and hang. Learning from someone online definitely made this project a breeze. Some of the negative comments about them not lining up, being hard to put together, etc. All true and all solvable with a pro tip. I loved these so much I ended up putting them in more than one room. For reference I a single woman in her 60's. Everything is perfectly level, centered and properly secured to the wall. I did the entire project alone start to finish. They look great and I highly recommend.

Flimsy, poor designMonicaI’ve been buying and building IKEA furniture for myself and others for close to 20 years, and the Eket cabinets are the absolute worst line of IKEA furniture I have ever had the displeasure of encountering.
Pay attention to the very light weight of the cabinet - that’s because the panels are only slightly sturdier than cardboard and all the fittings and connections are plastic.
Once assembled, the frames are out of square, the doors gap, and there is no way to hang them on the wall tight to each other to look like the pictures.
If all you’re going to keep on the shelf is a box of tissues and a 4x6 photograph of a hobby you might enjoy more than assembling this shelf of cards, then you probably won’t exceed the weight limit. But you certainly won’t be able to store anything with any heft to it - books are right out.
I regret the money and time wasted on this cabinet.
