I’ve always trusted IKEA for affordable, good-quality products, but this time I’m really disappointed.
I ordered the BUMERANG wooden hangers, and the batch I received was terrible:
• The wood is very rough and unfinished, not at all smooth like before.
• There were wood splinters and sawdust falling off as soon as I opened the box.
• Some hangers even had black mold spots on them!
This is not just about aesthetics—it’s a safety and hygiene issue. I shouldn’t have to sand down brand-new products or worry about mold.
I contacted IKEA customer service, and I hope they’ll resolve this, but I wanted to warn other buyers: Check your hangers carefully before using them!1

Nice, but...ScottI miss the hangers from 5+ years ago. I think these suffer from shrink-flation. I have a closet full of hangers and these that I recently purchased just don't match quality of previous IKEA wood hangers. There seems to to be NO finish on these AND two of the hangers were so rough that my wife got a splinter unpackaging them and I had to sand them before I was comfortable putting clothes on them. So 3-stars because they do what they need to, but I shouldn't have to "fix" a product before use. 3
