Drawers don't fully openElishaI have an older one of this model and bought another one to put side by side. The newer dresser drawers do not fully open. Its a new safety feature. While I understand the updated safety precaution for the business, as a consumer I feel like I wasted my money. You have these awesome deep drawers and can only open them half way meaning you have to remove everything in the front of the drawer to get what is behind. Old verison of this dresser drawers open 11 inches. The new model, 7 1/4 inches. It's a big difference in my opinion. Wish I didnt purchase.1

The Directions.....PatriciaWe love the cabinet. It is perfect for the room we put it in. However, we found the direction (all pictures no words) very difficult to follow. If you are very patient (and don't value your sanity) I recommend this.5

Changes and QualityAnonymous reviewerWe've purchased these before. But it seems as though IKEA is either using cheaper material or the quality is not there anymore. The boards are warped, some of the holes are not lining up as well which are causing bigger gaps.
The drawers no longer open up as they use to. Now they open maybe a little more than half way. At 1st I thought I had built it incorrectly but when I went back to the store they all open that way. To get to the items at the back of the drawer will be difficult or you'll need to remove the items in front. You need to bring back the drawer slides that allow the drawers to come out more.2
Brimnes 3 drawer dresserJamesLike the Brimnes bedframe, I thought I was in for a day of assembly, and was done in about 2 hours! Couldn't believe it! Might get another one and place it next to it. Wish Ikea would post what two of them look like side by side. Believe the 3 drawer version has the drawers opening up more than the taller 4 drawer version, that's the main reason the 3 drawer was chosen. Only one item in the instructions was omitted causing me to redo it, the long piece with the rubber feet on one side, wasn't illustrated, but about everything else was. looks great!5
Opening of drawersYuliyaI agree with all the comments, the opening of the drawers is just ridiculous. The drawers don't even pull out half way. I understand the safety issue with kids but damn ikea, you punished everyone, I have 4 kids thank gd and always had Malm series and NEVER did my kids climb the drawers. How do you expect us to fully have use of the dresser drawers??? I don't recommend any ikea furniture with drawers anymore. 1
DresserSinemIt has big, deep drawers that hold a lot of clothes. The drawers only open about 60%, but this didn’t bother me — I can still fit everything I wanted. A great buy!5
Poor quality controlMatthewI understand that these aren't supposed to be as high quality as the sektion cabinets that I filled my kitchen with but the quality control sucks. I have one with visually burned and uneven cuts and neither of the two units match each other. I bought them to sit side by side and the drawers and edges don't exactly line up. The kick plate is uneven left to right on both in exactly the same (designed) way. All the bs in the instructions about making sure to secure them to the wall and they aren't even able to be tilted forward enough to tip over in normal operation because of the horrible slides that don't pull out far enough or soft close. I'd consider returning them except for how far away the closest IKEA is and I'd still be out $50 shipping.2
Changes to BrimnesCherylI’ve purchased many of the Brimnes dressers, 4 drawers and 3 drawers, and the side rail length was shortened so the drawer does not open as far. It’s much harder to put items in the drawers and the liners I purchased for the drawers can’t be placed in them unless you remove the drawer to place the liner and then put the drawer back in the dresser.3
Poor quality and drawers open just 40%AlexandreI’ve buying this drawers at Ikea for at least 25 years since I bought the general stuff from ikea in Europe so I moved to the US and after 12 years here I still believe at Ikea quality but last year I bought 2 of this drawers and I don’t know how it just open like 40% of the total drawer and after check online they say that is not a defect but it’s a safety way to protect kids of open drawers and hike it like mountain so with all 3 drawers opened and load plus the kid weight could hurt this kid and to avoid sue they just found this solution, but I’m 50 and ain’t got no freaking kids and not even want ‘em so this drawers for me is useless and I don’t recommend buy it avoid to buy it and get something else better1
Drawers open only halfwayMiguelI got this for the design. I spent hours assembling this thing only to find out that the drawers don’t open all the way. I understand that kids have gotten hurt by climbing on dressers in the past but isn’t that what the wall mounts are for? I can’t even see what’s in my own drawer because of this safety feature. I want a refund2
