Adorable Lamp ShadeMarkitaI’m pleased with my lamp shades overall. I did taper my expectations after reading the reviews, and I found all of the comments to be accurate. The shade does arrive flattened and secured with twine. There is also a thin cardboard “ribbon” that wraps around the center. When the shade is initially hung, it is misshapen and lopsided. I used these shades on my kitchen pendant light fixtures, so I had to secure them with zip-ties which, surprisingly, is unnoticeable. I’m not sure if it’s that the new material is stiff, the way they were packaged or both, but they are shorter than the picture. Maybe they will stretch a bit over time? I’m not sure. In my case the shorter length works because they hang over our kitchen peninsula. I have stuffed the shades with the packing paper from the box to help define the shape, and they look very nice. I’ll leave the paper in them for a week or so. In summary, do the shades look EXACTLY like the image? No. But, in my opinion they are still super cute.
Not as nice as the picturesEmmaThis shade is a real disappointment. It comes out of the box warped and wrinkled. The seams are heavy and it looks really cheap. I can't stop thinking that it looks just like a tardigrade...

Don'tTimothyIKEA products are usually hit or miss. This one is a miss. The advertising photos look great - I was excited for this lampshade. I've had good experiences with IKEA's paper shades before, and I was glad to see a new product in a different material. As other reviews have said, however, the lamp arrives flat packed and wrapped in a twine cord that disfigures the soft material of the shade. It was extremely lopsided, puckered, and pinched. When you hang it, you can clearly see the line where the twine had been wrapped around it. I tried gently stuffing the shade and leaving it hanging for several days, to form it back into the intended shape. That helped, but the distortions from the packing process can't be undone. It's still lopsided and puckered, albeit slightly less. If this was made from a hard rattan it would be perfect, but the material is too soft.
Spare yourself the headache, pass on this one.
Terrible Anonymous reviewerThis lampshade looks lovely online, but it shipped squashed down with a ribbon at the waist, resulting in an indentation around the middle. There are also unsightly seems running down each side of the lamp and the bottom is misshapen. Done waste your money.
Beautiful pendant lamp shadeGuillermoKudos for IKEA for making this happen. I replaced my (non-IKEA) floor lamp’s boring lamp shade with this one and it looks fantastic. I had to tweak the shade base a little to make it work but it’s not noticeable at all. Beautiful shade at am amazing price
Great exotic tiki shape!ElisaThis is the best seagrass oriental type shade I've seen, but too tight a weave to light a dark area, which I need to do. Could you make a lighter option with a less dense weave?
