Powder under chairJill H.I bought two of these 6 months ago for our condo and one of them keeps getting that yellow powder underneath it someone else on here takes about. Today I wiped it up and it was full of tiny black bugs. So I think bugs are what is causing the ones that have powder underneath from the warehouse. Mine have never been outside since bought and used in dining area.3

I am pleased with the chairs but IKEA no longer makes cushions that fit properly in the seat. I had to go on the internet to get cushions that fit. You should have them.4

I love the looks and mine is still perfect, but I had to replace my husband’s, who weighs 230lbs, after a couple of years and his replacement chair just broke again. I wish they were made a bit stronger!3
Years of useAmphibianzBought two of these over 10 years ago, have been in living, dining room, kids room, covered porch, etc. Have had babies, toddlers, kids, puppies, dogs and cats sit on them (and squirm out through the hole under the armrest- kids, dogs *and* cats) and they are still going strong. Almost didn’t buy them, bc I was afraid of fragility of a chair made like a basket, but they have outlived many other chairs in this house! Cute design, not too big or small, great!5

Sturdy and comfortablemolllie73There is a yellow powder that falls from these chairs. I am using 2 inside my living room and have to keep vacuuming underneath. Took them outside and slammed on the ground to remove but more keeps coming off both chairs. Best for outdoors I suppose. They are shown in IKEA photos indoors.3

What is rattan?

Rattan is a strong yet lightweight and flexible material made from the rattan plant’s stem. It can be used both whole and split into thinner materials that are braided into things like furniture and baskets. Rattan belongs to the palm family and climbs along trees, though no trees are required to be felled when the rattan cane is harvested. Since it is a natural material and the products are often handmade by skilled craftspeople, each object gets a completely unique look.
