    Powder under chairJillI bought two of these 6 months ago for our condo and one of them keeps getting that yellow powder underneath it someone else on here takes about. Today I wiped it up and it was full of tiny black bugs. So I think bugs are what is causing the ones that have powder underneath from the warehouse. Mine have never been outside since bought and used in dining area.3

    Years of useAnonymous reviewerBought two of these over 10 years ago, have been in living, dining room, kids room, covered porch, etc. Have had babies, toddlers, kids, puppies, dogs and cats sit on them (and squirm out through the hole under the armrest- kids, dogs *and* cats) and they are still going strong. Almost didn’t buy them, bc I was afraid of fragility of a chair made like a basket, but they have outlived many other chairs in this house! Cute design, not too big or small, great!5

    What is rattan?

    Rattan is a strong yet lightweight and flexible material made from the rattan plant’s stem. It can be used both whole and split into thinner materials that are braided into things like furniture and baskets. Rattan belongs to the palm family and climbs along trees, though no trees are required to be felled when the rattan cane is harvested.
