Spacious, good quality dresserMaeganBought this to use in our baby’s nursery as both a changing station (fits a well known brand’s peanut-shaped pad comfortably) and dresser. Happy with the size and depth of the drawers and was easy enough to put together. Slightly more gray than beige, but overall happy with its appearance.
Well made, sturdyZackThe solid pine construction is worth the extra cost compared to less expensive options. Very sturdy when built. Carefully packaged and nice finish (black), though a couple small scratches brought my rating to 4 rather than 5. Instructions are good, but you need to pay very close attention at each step and study the drawings to ensure all goes together as intended. Drawer slider hardware is well made and integrates a simple leveling device so the drawers can sit square within their openings. I love that.
Great dresserMaryWe wanted an inexpensive dresser that could also be used with a pad on top for a changing table. That means the dresser had to be long enough for the changing pad and allow some room for wipes on top. The dresser had to be wide enough for the pad and also the entire dresser had to be a comfortable height for the adult changing the child. This dresser fit all requirements plus it was attractive and does a nice job holding clothes!

Sturdy!PatriciaI needed a dresser that is solid, looks good, and can hold my clothes. Assembly was more complicated than usual for an IKEA purchase because of safety improvements. If you don't like being patient it would make sense to have IKEA do the assembly. I enjoy the process myself. The components are of good quality. My young cat loves to do parkour using furniture, leaping at least six feet. Not a problem with HAVSTA. I like the finish on the wood, a glaze that gives color but shows hints of the wood grain. The dresser style is modern but it fits in well with other style furniture.
Nice Dresser; Horrible InstructionsEdwardThe major pieces aren't labeled! Three are 3 almost identical pieces that have different functions. Nearly impossible to tell which is which when tryong to assemble the dresser. So much time wasted, for nothing! Also, the drawer slides are tough to attach to the drawers.
Buy something else not thisGeorgePurchased yesterday . Impossible to assemble . The worst instructions ever . Nothing is labeled. Wood is solid with a primer. Not even a layer of paint. You can see the natural wood under it . If I can’t finish assembling this today. It’s being returned . I refuse to pay for assembly

Nightmare assemblyWendyYou will be overwhelmed by the number of pieces and components for this one. Instructions aren't clear and pieces aren't labeled. It's a nightmare build, stay away. I returned this one, and will find something else. I don't recommend it.
A modern sturdy dresserSusanThis dresser turned out to be much better than I expected. However be aware that the back of the dresser is a cheaper material. The drawers are fairly strong and deep and the stainless knobs make it look more upscale. It is quite compact and matches well with my bedside tables. It did however , take a long 4 hours to build. I like the natural wood grain which shows through the white paint. It is definitely sturdier than other IKEA dressers. I did consider the Kilberget design but found it to be flimsy and cheap. This was more expensive compared to similar other designs. I guess you get what you pay for!
Do not buy!!!AmandaThe finishing on the surface of the wood panels are horrible. There are holes, dents and looks like someone painted grey paint over the panel trying to conceal the hole or dent. If these defects were on the non visible part of the dresser, we can live with it, however the defects are on the outside wood panels. I have pictures however there is no place to upload them here. We also bought the Havsta cabinet and the top of the cabinet also has a dent. Very disapppointed! Both items were returned!
Solid Wood - Be careful of one thing!Anonymous reviewerGreat solid wood dresser. Be careful of just one thing. On step 4 when you attach the bottom to the middle, be very careful of the holes. There is an odd number and the instructions don't give you great visibility to realize what hole you need to screw on the bottom. One of the holes looks like it is the one you should screw but isn't. Other than that, pretty straightforward assembly. Very sturdy. Fits in my closet perfectly

However, assembly takes effort—it’s heavy and definitely a two-person job. Pine is a soft wood, so scratches or dents can happen if you’re rough with it. The finish can show natural wood knots, but that adds character for most people.
Overall, the black HAVSTA dresser is a solid, high-quality upgrade if you want real wood and a refined look that fits a minimalist space. Just take your time assembling it and anchor it properly.
Worth it for long-term use and aesthetic appeal.
Disappointed in Finish and DurabilityMichaelRelatively easy to assemble, but the pine is very fragile. One of my drawer fronts arrived with a long split that I didn’t notice until it was fully installed, and I expect it will worsen over time. A few other fronts had dents and dings right out of the box. I realize pine is soft, but I wasn’t expecting damage on new pieces. The finish is also rough—basically just stained raw pine—so it will easily absorb water, lint, and fingerprints. I chose this set because it was the closest match to my old Malm, which was a solid workhorse. Sadly, with Malm discontinued, this seemed like the best option, but the quality doesn’t compare. On the positive side, assembly was straightforward and actually easier than Malm, Storklinta, and some other newer models since sliders aren’t required on both the frame and drawers. Still, the fragility and finish issues make it feel less sturdy and durable overall.
