If you want this, buy like 5 of them and return 4PeterBought 2 of these, both were defective in different ways. There are 2 screws that you have to remove before you can put it together, and one of those was brutally drilled in at an angle that made it impossible to remove—so I returned it and bought a new one. The second one I bought, one of the metal pieces was smashed in by the threads.
I used my brute strength and half an hour of my life to slowly screw that piece on anyway, and when I finally put the lamp together, it stood at about a 20⁰ angle. It is screwed in perfectly flush with the base, so I think the base itself is defective as a separate issue from the threads.
Additionally, the cord does not want to be pulled taught, so it will look a lot goofier running along the side. You will need an extension cord unless it's right by an outlet.
Also, note— you need 2 different sizes of bulbs.
What I recommend: if you want this lamp, buy 5, choose the best pieces of each, and return 4 of them with all the defective pieces.
Very disappointingSallyBought this lamp put it together only to find out that the smaller lamp did not come with an insert that allows me to screw in the bulb. So the smaller lamp is basically useless. I feel like Ikea cheated me out of my money. I'm so very disappointed.

Works well for allHollyWe have had the lamp for about 5 years, and in three spaces. It gets the job done. It was in my office, then my son’s room, and then my daughter’s apartment. No complaints. The torch light illuminates a decent sized room well—but not super bright. The task lamp illuminates a focused area exactly as it should. The lamp can be easily taken apart and reassembled for easy transport. It surprised me that the task lamp required an e-base bulb, but it was easy to find. Now, it is getting ready to be set up in my son’s dorm. Perfect, especially for the very affordable price.

The lower arm bends up and down, which is convenient. And it fits in the small space behind our dual recliner. It was also easy enough to assemble.

What light bulb do I need!?Alisoncan't find a light bulb for the smaller lamp. I took the instructions with me to Walmart light bulb section and bought what I thought was the correct size,. It wasn't. Now I don't know what do do!! Also, I spray painted dit gold and it looks awesome.
malformed shadeDavidThe lamp assembled easily except for the shades that are supposed to press fit into place. No amount of adjusting, angling, pressing, rotating, etc. allowed the upper shade to firmly attach. In the end it simply shattered. I wouldn't bother with this light which is clearly the lowest end of the floor lamp category. I also have to say that the telephone advice to get some superglue from Home Depot to try to fix the shattered shade seemed unworthy of a serious retailer.

Didn’t last too longDianaThe best part- the mini light. The switch for the bigger light broke after about a year, which I don’t even use much. I use the lamp for the mini light only.
Bulb impossible to find!RachelI ordered the lamp knowing Ikea was out of the bulbs, but it sure would have been helpful to know that the smaller lamp uses a not very common bulb that proves impossible to find. I’ve been to four stores so far, and I guess I just won’t be able to use the reading part of the lamp. I bought 3, so 2 will be returned.
looks good, but dont touch it.Lindavery loose. if you turn the lamps toward you the entire tall leg of lamp becomes loose. ALSO!!! if you are going to ship a lamp, you should have the bulbs available for delivery!!!

Cheap or inexpensive?VictorThis is the cheapest and worst-made lamp. Doesn't stand straight up (always leaning to one side). Materials are flimsy. It takes 2 different size/type of bulbs (not included) and the ikea bulbs are complete garbage. You need one LED e12 bulb for the reading lamp and one LED A19 for the top/ceiling light (must not exceed 13-watt output to reduce risk of fire hazard - that's confidence inspiring). Make sure to order the same color (warm or cool and same with the lumens (5000) so both bulbs match). I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
