It's been my home office "desk" for 2 yrsAmandaOK, this is a super practical piece of IKEA furniture. My husband and I both work from home in different rooms. I have the living room and this table works perfectly for my desk. At end of day, I tuck 2 laptops and some paper underneath on shelf and it's a clear space to eat dinner or rest drinks. The top, fake wood, also reminds me of the reading tables in my elementary school, so has a pull of nostalgia for me. But it's also a breeze to clean up. I was worried cats might scratch at textured shelf, but hasn't happened. Very happy with purchase....
