Soft & ComfyKachaThis is my third cover that we have purchased in the past 12 years. I decided to try this softer Tonerud fabric and was worried it wouldn't hold up as well as the "tougher" fabrics we have previously had. It has been 3 months and so far it still looks and feels great! For reference, we are a family of 5 with teens/young adults and have pets as well.
WHY NO GRANSEL NATURALHaleyI’ve had my Söderhamn couch (two 1-seat sections, one chaise, and one corner section) for three years and I love it! However, I got the fridtuna beige covers last year (I started with the tonerud gray) and they feel like sandpaper - LARGE WEAVE. We’ve gotten used to the feel of them but I get embarrassed having people over because I find the covers so uncomfortable to sit on. I’m DYING to purchase the Gransel natural covers so I can be done upgrading this couch, but of course the Gransel natural is not available for the corner section, and the corner section ONLY. PLEASE FIX THIS IM BEGGING YOU!! IT CANT BE THAT HARD. SEND ME THE FABRIC I WILL LEARN TO UPHOLSTER MYSELF.

Overpriced HilaryI like the sofa but I’m not in love with it. For the price I expected a lot more comfort. The seat cushions don’t even fill the cushion covers so it looks worn out when it’s brand new. Assembly was pretty easy. But ya, this piece has doubled in price in the last 3 years. Literally. For the price I expected better quality and it’s just not there to justify doubling in price.
Debating on returning...RobinThe low rating is because:
1. They sold me an open package without informing me (yes, they hid it, and I noticed it once I made it home).
2. The color looks better online, but we like variety, so we mixed and matched with the off-white to make it look better, so that works.
ComfyCraigPurchasing the Sodahamn Corner Sofa was easy. However ikea sent one side cover too small. Now I have buy another cover!

3 year reviewRachelWe love the sofa. That is still in good shape. This cover fabric however, not so hot. With general wear and tear from 2 small children and a dog, this couch that is not used daily, has a tear on the seat cushion cover and snagged and pilled ALL over. While the fabric is beautiful at first, I would not recommend it for anyone with any type of animal. Our dog doesn't even lay on it much and any where she has been there are snags from her nails. Being able to change out covers is cool, but by the time you spend the money on the couch and a set of covers, you could have purchased a super nice piece that has better quality fabric with stain protectant. I LOVE IKEA, we have it all over our home, this cover set just doesn't hit the mark.
Not as good as beforeTinaI bought a set of Soderhamn sofa a few years ago and was very happy with the design and flexibility of the series. I recently purchased 2 of the corner sections in dark grey color to make a small couch in another room and was disappointed how different they are now compared to before. The cushions are much flatter, leaving quite some empty space in the cushion cases. (The cushions in their showroom still had similar fullness to the ones I bought before.) The quality of the cover fabric changed to a rougher and stiffer texture. The color is also much more faded than shown in the images. It is too late to regret for me now as I had already paid $69 for the home delivery and the couch won't fit into my car if I want to drive them back to the stores to return. I'm sad that they got more expensive but less quality over the past few years.
