IKEA is making a safety announcement for SUNDVIK changing table/ chest in black-brown, grey-brown, and white.
IKEA has received 3 incidents with injury due to the safety locking fittings not being used as intended when in the changing table position. None of these incidents occurred in the United States.
When used in the changing table position, the changing table must be securely locked into place using the provided safety lock fitting. IKEA urges customers who have misplaced or lost the safety lock fittings to contact IKEA for new fittings, free of charge. Always use the locking mechanism when using as a changing table. Please find a picture of the safety lock fitting below.
No proof of purchase (receipt) is needed to obtain replacement safety fittings. The product is safe when used as intended and according to the instructions provided.
