IKEA U.S. announces support for Charlie’s House, home safety awareness and injury prevention efforts

Conshohocken, PA – November 17, 2021– IKEA U.S. is committed to customer safety. We all want our homes to be a safe place and when we work together, we can reduce the risk of accidents. IKEA believes we must play a collaborative role within the industry and work with consumer safety advocates and customers to promote safe furniture use. As part of this ongoing commitment to home safety, IKEA is excited to announce a monetary and home safety product donation to Charlie’s House in support of its awareness efforts.
Charlie’s House is a leading voice in educating new and becoming parents about the importance of preventing accidents and injuries to children in and around the home. IKEA is proud to support Charlie’s House in its work as a vital community resource for families and community organizations. Through this new meaningful relationship, we aim to further a shared goal of raising awareness regarding accident prevention, increasing safety consciousness and general public education.
This month, as part of the commitment, IKEA will join Charlie’s House together with the Injury Free Coalition for Kids and the country's leading injury and violence prevention organizations to “shine a green light” on the importance of injury prevention and awareness. Our IKEA Merriam store will be lit up in green for "National Injury Prevention Day” on Thursday, November 18 to show our support. Local team members will also participate in an event at Charlie’s House on that same day to come together in support. IKEA Merriam is also working with the local municipality and Chamber of Commerce and our Family Promise affiliate to encourage participation in the Shine a Green Light initiative.
We look forward to our collaboration with Charlie’s House and remain committed to raising awareness on home safety and injury prevention.
