Frequently asked questions
Question: Why did IKEA choose Tulsa?
Answer: We chose Tulsa to bring the IKEA experience closer to the many people across Oklahoma and make shopping more accessible. Until now, Oklahoma customers had to travel out of state to shop in-person at an IKEA. IKEA Tulsa will make it easier for customers to explore stylish, well-designed and affordable home furnishings, find inspiration and get planning support for their home projects.
Question: What sustainability initiatives does IKEA offer?
Answer: IKEA’s sustainability efforts first and foremost focus on a product’s lifecycle, from design to reuse. When designing products, IKEA considers environmental impact alongside form, function, quality and affordability. Customers can also find products that help them use less energy and water, reduce waste and make healthier food choices. At IKEA Tulsa, the store will offer Buyback services and house an As-is section featuring gently used and discontinued products, offering even more affordable furnishing choices while supporting sustainable ways to furnish the home.
Question: How does IKEA Tulsa fit into the $2.2 billion investment IKEA U.S. announced in 2023?
Answer: The opening of IKEA Tulsa is part of IKEA U.S.’s growth and expansion strategy to bring the IKEA experience closer to the many. The investment supports IKEA’s journey to become more affordable, accessible and sustainable through new store formats and continued development of digital and in-store shopping experiences. IKEA Tulsa combines room settings and planning support in a physical store with online ordering and convenient pickup and delivery options, giving customers more ways to improve life at home.
