IKEA is moving from Arlington to Georgetown to offer improved accessibility and convenience for DMV customers.

Arlington, VA - (October 17, 2025) – As part of IKEA’s ongoing transformation to better meet the evolving needs of its customers, the company is moving its planning location in Arlington to a new, more accessible location in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. IKEA in Georgetown will open on November 5, located at 3307 M. Street. NW. Washington, DC 20007. Meanwhile, The IKEA Arlington Plan and order point will remain open for planning appointments and pick up until it closes on November 30, 2025.

This decision supports IKEA’s broader strategy to meet customers wherever and however they choose to shop—whether in-store, online, or through new and innovative formats. 

“We are creating a better IKEA and that means continually evolving in a rapidly changing retail landscape to ensure we remain accessible, affordable, and sustainable for our customers.” said Javier Quiñones, CEO & Chief Sustainability Officer, IKEA U.S. 

Starting November 5, customers can go to IKEA in Georgetown to meet with the IKEA team to plan and order home furnishing solutions that require a bit more help—such as kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and small spaces. 

While customers are unable to take products home on the same day, they can arrange for delivery or schedule orders to be picked up from any available pick-up location. Pick-up services will become available at IKEA in Georgetown in the coming months.

IKEA is dedicated to elevating the customer experience with a variety of customer meeting points and locations that complement each other and meet people's different home furnishing needs. In addition to opening new customer meeting points, IKEA U.S. has made significant investments to enhance its e-commerce experience and service offerings, including new IKEA Family benefits, lower priced shipping and delivery, Click & collect, and TaskRabbit assembly services.
