IKEA expands in DMV with new Chantilly store opening June 18

IKEA U.S. announced that IKEA Chantilly will officially open its doors on June 18, 2026.

This new format store brings the IKEA experience closer to Northern Virginia, expanding access to affordable home furnishings for the local community.

Conshohocken, PA – June 11, 2026 – Today, IKEA U.S. announced that IKEA Chantilly will officially open its doors on June 18, 2026.

Located in Northern Virginia, IKEA Chantilly becomes the seventh IKEA location in the greater Washington region, joining stores in Woodbridge and College Park, as well as Plan and order points in Georgetown, Fairfax, Gaithersburg and Annapolis. The opening reflects the company’s continued focus on expanding access to affordable, well-designed home furnishings through a growing national footprint.

“We’re so proud to be celebrating 40 years in the greater Washington region, and opening IKEA Chantilly is just another meaningful step in our journey to be more accessible to the many people,” said Rob Olson, interim CEO of IKEA U.S. “This store makes it easier for more people to access affordable home furnishings whether they’re planning their dream space or stopping in for items they can take home the same day.”

Located at 4320 Chantilly Shopping Center Drive, Chantilly, VA 20151, the 107,000‑square‑foot store will showcase more than 7,700 products, with over 4,400 items available for immediate takeaway, including home furnishing accessories and more than 500 small furniture items. IKEA Chantilly will offer a central planning area for personalized design consultations, along with a Swedish food experience featuring customer favorites like meatballs, plant balls, hot dogs and veggie dogs.

IKEA Chantilly will also feature an As‑Is department, offering gently used and discontinued items, and electric vehicle chargers in the shared parking lot, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and circular living.

“IKEA Chantilly was designed with everyday needs in mind — making it easier for customers to shop, plan and bring items home the same day,” said Scott Reid, Market Manager, IKEA Woodbridge. “As IKEA continues to grow across the U.S., we’re excited to welcome customers into a store that reflects how they live today and to be an active, supportive part of the local community.”

The community is invited to celebrate the grand opening of IKEA Chantilly on June 18, with festivities including giveaways, coffee and cinnamon buns. Doors will open to customers at 9:35 a.m. following the ribbon cutting and opening remarks. Regular store hours will be Monday–Sunday 11:00am – 8:00pm.

IKEA U.S. is focused on omnichannel transformation, making it easier than ever for customers to shop in‑store or online. Recent investments include expanding e‑commerce capabilities, opening new store formats, increasing pickup points and FedEx parcel locations, and offering services such as home delivery, Click & Collect and remote planning. The opening of IKEA Chantilly is part of the company’s $2.2 billion nationwide investment in both physical locations and digital growth.
