IKEA Gift Registry Decommissioning - FAQs

• 1. What is happening to IKEA's gift registry?
  IKEA has decided to discontinue its gift registry tool. This means customers will no longer be able to create new registries as of today, and other functionalities will be shut down later this year. Timing will be communicated at a later point.
• 2. When will the gift registry service be shut down?
  The functionality to create a new gift registry was removed in May 2026. The gift registry function will be officially decommissioned in December 2026. After this, registry accounts will no longer be accessible.
• 3. Can I still access my existing registry?
  Yes, but only until the gift registry tool is fully decommissioned in December 2026. Customers are encouraged to log in and save their registry items to their lists or screenshot their registry details before the decommission date.
• 4. What happens to items on my registry?
  Items saved in your registry will be fully deleted. Items will not be automatically transferred or saved elsewhere. Customers whose event is after the decommissioning date should be encouraged to manually recreate their list in Favorites.
• 5. Can friends and family still purchase gifts from my registry?
  Yes, but only until the gift registry is fully decommissioned in December 2026. Once the gift registry function is discontinued, others will not be able to view or purchase from your registry through IKEA. Your friends and family can continue to purchase gifts from ikea.com. For further alternatives, see question 8 below.
• 6. Will I be notified before my registry is deleted?
  IKEA typically sends notifications via email in advance of the decommission date. Please make sure your contact information is up to date to receive any important updates. Please inform your friends and family that your registry will no longer be available after December 2026.
• 7. What if I already purchased items through a registry?
  Any completed purchases are unaffected. Returns and exchanges will follow IKEA's standard return policy.
• 8. Are there alternative ways to create a gift list with IKEA products?
  While the gift registry function is ending, you can still: 1. Save items to a personal shopping list on IKEA's website or app. Hearting an item in your registry will automatically bring up Favorites for you to choose which list you'd like to add it to, or create a new one. A link to your list can be shared from there. 2. Share products or personal shopping list links directly with friends and family. 3. Use third-party registry platforms that include or can include IKEA items.
• 9. Will IKEA introduce a new gift registry function in the future?
  At this time, there's no official confirmation about a replacement registry tool.
• 10. What will happen with my data after the gift registry tool is decommissioned?
  You will still have access to your data temporarily. Please refer to privacy notice or contact customer service
