IKEA Recalls MYSINGSÖ Beach Chair

01/26/2017 9:00 AM

[National] IKEA urges customers who purchased a MYSINGSÖ beach chair before February 2017 to bring it back to any IKEA store for replacement or a full refund.

After removing the fabric seat it is possible to re-assemble the chair incorrectly leading to a risk of falls or fingertip amputation hazards. IKEA has received 13 reports of incidents worldwide, including 10 injuries, 6 of which resulted in fingertip amputations. Three of those incidents, with one fingertip amputation injury, were reported in the U.S.

Replacement MYSINGSÖ beach chairs are planned to be available in IKEA stores by February 2017. They are labelled with article numbers 703.380.17 and 903.380.16 and have plastic stoppers that prevent incorrect re-assembly.

Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required for a replacement chair or a full refund. For more information, please visit www.IKEA-usa.com or contact IKEA toll-free (888) 966-4532.

IKEA apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
