How does the remote interior design process work and what is included?

Sign up and pay for an online interior design appointment, then complete a questionnaire and share photos, videos, and floor plans of your space with your designer. You’ll meet via Microsoft Teams video appointments to review and refine the design, receive a final plan with product recommendations, and choose to have items delivered or pick them up from IKEA.

Your first step is to sign up and pay for your online interior design appointment, selecting a residential or commercial space. Note that short-term or long-term rentals, such as Airbnbs, VRBOs and the like, are considered businesses. Home offices are considered residential.
Once you’ve paid for the service, you’ll get a confirmation with a link to a questionnaire via email. Your designer will also reach out via email to introduce themselves and to request floor plans with dimensions, photos and videos of the space, and your complete questionnaire.
You’ll receive a link to login to a video call at the specified time. You’ll meet with your designer remotely for a total of up to two video appointments for homes or up to three video appointments for businesses, via Microsoft Teams, and communicate as needed via email to review floor plans, designs, and product selections.

Be sure to involve all stakeholders and decision-makers in these meetings and share feedback on what you do and don’t like in the draft design. Your designer will incorporate your feedback to create a final design consisting of a floor plan / layout, 3D renderings, and a product quotation.
You can purchase your products via your designer’s sales partner and have it delivered. Alternatively, if you live near an IKEA store, you can also choose to pick up your order yourself; or choose to Click & Collect your order, and we can arrange for the store you select to prepare your order for pick-up.
